I hope it's not too far enough, even though I will probably not pay for the upgrade right away, I'm curious what they will add. Looking at its release history and pattern, it can be released in August or Early September I guess.

I have been monitoring all sorts of online sources and I am hearing there "may" not be a v6 anytime soon rather we should actually get ready for a 5.6.x

That said - I watch the standard historical release history and it does suggest that we "should" see a V6 this year...only Presonus knows for sure....

Maybe instead of "6," they're going to call it "Vista"! ;)

That would be like 6 months between 5.5 and 5.6

5.5 Was released in January

I would wager v6 is coming sooner rather than later. Since January they have just had 2 very minor updates fixing some bugs, which sorta tells me they are working on something a bit bigger.

who knows though really.

Well - you should really look at the last "5.5" release which was 5.5.2 - which only came out on April 5 - just shy of three months. And historically - every Studio One release except v3 - had a x.6 release.

I still believe this cycle will give us a "x.6" release with a new major version in the fall.

Either way - I agree - we have not seen any update activity in a while but there have been historical cases of point release "gaps" being longer than April 5 - June 29.

Whenever it is and whatever it is - it is welcomed as usual. :)

Cheers!

Historically I don't get why anyone gives a rats when the new version is coming out.

We have to be the BETA testers and the cycle continues. It takes 3 to 4 updates to get back to where we were.

How many bells and whistles do people need to make their beat?

A lot of us are hoping for more composer-friendly updates, like my number 1 feature request is a video track(s) - as right now it is pretty rough scoring a feature length film in S1 compared to Cubase or Logic.

1. This request makes sense. However you can only do SONGS in S1 per its file type
2. Sync options need improved for sure.
3. Logic or Cubase are the go to for fill guys at this point. DP if you like complexity

Exactly. I am fed up with finding and reporting issue's with V5. Seven months of sidechain PDC almost finished me off but i stuck it out. It's been a horrid experience for me of any version iv'e used. Constant work arounds with almost every update.

I would be happy with V5 refined, tweaked, expanded and improved in it's current features.

Presonus is much like Steinberg at this point. Users Beta Test for them and report issues. Nothing gets fixed but hey look at this new feature no one asked for.

I love S1 but man.

Wow, you must have had inside information! Just loaded mine as well. Has someone notified phillipdixon it's out? He hasn't responded as he's likely a Millennial on a need it now, basis.
Enjoy it everyone! Wooh-hoo!

What's amazing is it looks identical to 5 but "dropped" so much more power and features. Even shows Five still. Very clever and keeps the competition guessing. 👏

Thank you SO much, Presonus! The upgrade price can't be beat!
