Vocalpoint wroteMan - you guys need to get a new hobby if Sphere is truly frosting your corn.

The choice is simple - either get off the wallet and purchase a subscription and "be ahead of the crowd" or wait until 11:00am CST today and see what's new.

"Core" users or not - how is this really a thing? I am thinking it's not.

Sphere isn't. Some elitist marketing or positioning is. I'm for Sphere, and have spoke completely for it. What is the issue here is the rollover of next day news to some and not others. My position is I could have crammed a Master out and submitted it. Forrunately. Thatt didn't happen. but the "ah, its one day" here. The you can't go further, there is adding up to a real we first pattern.
I probably should have added my accepting of Sphere point in, but didn't. What's not so acceptable is pretty obvious.
Anyhow. I hope the v5.5 release is a good one, and that a complete fix of the sustain pedal issue, and some other items that folks have asked to correct happens in this release. I mean, why wouldn't it?
So let's see the sizzle, and all those tentative fixes today and the coming days ahead

I got it. So far the 5.5 update has solved global warming, the pandemic, automatically mixes and masters all my songs, but the 666 error code is still there. 😈😁

Britney Spears is what happens when you run out of bands like Heart. ;)

Studio One Pro (v5) on i7 7700 win10 PC w16GB RAM and a Mac Pro Tower (w/RME & Focusrite interfaces.)

I use S1 as an author/musician/multi-media artist.
My work includes the newly released: Clearing a Path to Joy (And finding contentment along the way) [AuroraSkyPublishing.com]
and my upcoming music video, Too Big To Fail, which introduces Citizen Based Social Planning — "the next step in the evolution of democracy." You know...typical everyday stuff. :)

We could ask them what exactly is the 666 issue for instance.

The 666 issue is not a bug in Studio One. "666" is displayed when invalid samples are detected (for example because a plug-in outputs invalid audio data) which can result in audio bursts.

Hi Lucas,

Trust me 666 is a BUG and a big one too. I have suffered from this issue in many of my sessions and I went back and forth with support about that, they keep saying it's a plugin error which might be in some cases but not all the time, time stretching sometimes causes that too, I am telling you out of 1st hand experience. In both cases this error doesn't exist in any DAW that I know of, Ableton Logic don't do that, they might have their own bugs but certainly not that one.

Also note that this behavior should clip the audio and emit no sound for protection which it does 80 percent of the time but 20 percent it will emit that loud noise in your speakers which can blow your ears and speakers which is DANGEROUS which makes it a bug..

I have sent videos to support with that loud noise going through the master btw and as I understood, support told me that Presonus/S1 developers recognize this as a bug.

Bub noted the 666 issue, I don't know how many years ago. The Statue of Liberty was just a little girl at the time.

Well I am not arguing on how it works or who developed it, at the end of the day it is an integral part of S1 and wether it is that or anything else that causes the 666, it still makes it Presonus responsibility, hence why I see it as a bug and that's why in the release note it was mentioned under issues fixed ..

At the end of the day I don't care about all that. I care that they calmed that it has been fixed which is great news and a big thank you to the developers.

"666 is no longer alone
He's getting out the marrow in your backbone
And the seven trumpets blowing sweet rock and roll
Gonna blow right down inside your soul
Pythagoras with the looking glass reflects the full moon
In blood, he's writing the lyrics of a brand-new tune"

So I watched the video explaining the new features. I love the midi Strum function. Great for faking guitar rhythm. Especially if you don't have a good room to record in. There's a lot of great acoustic samples out there and some are free. And I really like how you can draw a midi chord now simply by dragging up from the root note. Great new features!

I love the new loudness exporting options but they are only in the Project page. :hunf: They need to be available in the Song page too.

Also he said something in the release video about using the new proprietary dithering for making MP3's. You don't use dithering when making MP3's unless you are somehow recording 64bit projects. MP3's are all 32bit floating point and dithering isn't used for sample rate. But, I will give it a try and see if it makes a difference.

There are some great new features in 5.5 but man, they really should have made the export loudness options available for the Song page too.
