Here's what I'm using
Mac Mini - Mac Os Big Sur 11.6
TD-17
Studio One 5

Here's what I was able to do so far....
Purchased, downloaded and installed SSD5.5 (Steve Slate Drums)
opened up Studio One 5 and loaded the plugin and
was able to click on the drums in the windows and hear sounds

I also connected my TD-17 to my computer as a new instrument track
when I hit the drums, the audiometer on the track moves as if
it's reading the midi signal, however, I'm not hearing any sounds when I hit the drums. ...and this is where I'm stuck, any ideas?

Thanks again for all your help with this.

Welcome to the Forum!

So you're not interested in recording the sound that the TD-17 makes,

Just using the TD-17 to trigger the SSDrums.

So you probably used the USB port to send midi to the computer?

You would create an external device: a new keyboard. You send midi to an instrument but only receive midi from a keyboard.

https://s1manual.presonus.com/#Setup_To ... 257C_____4

When you create it you set the receive box to the midi port where your drums are.

Then you drag an instance of SSD to the arrange window which will create a new track with SSD on it.

The input for that track you set to the device you created and then click the monitor button for live input to be connected to the track.

You did something like that?

What Tacman said:

1. Make sure you have the MONITOR button turned on on the SSD5 Instrument Track
2. Configure your External Device as a NEW KEYBOARD and set it to RECEIVE the midi in from your MIDI cable

Im using a Roland TD5 here with SSD5 as well
