Seems like only Studio One 5 works on Windows 11 for the moment. Will Studio One 4 become compatible in the future?

It may or may not work and if it doesn't you can choose to live with the issue or upgrade to the version of Studio One that does.

Here's a link to what PreSonus products are supported for Windows 11:

Chances are it will mostly still work with Win 11, however any bugs or issues inherent to the new OS will not be fixed.

Studio One 4 has reached its end of life. I would not expect anymore development effort to be put towards it. Same with how it did not receive support for M1 Macs.

As others have mentioned - it might actually work until a point where it doesn't. You might be able to hack your way thru but just stay on Windows 10 and you will be fine.

There will be no additional work on V4 to make it compatible with Win 11 if history is any indicator.

Cheers

Studio One 4 came out in 2018 and it's already not supported anymore? That's concerning...
I'd assume that most people are still using SO4 so supporting it for Windows 11 would make sense.

Anyway, thanks for the answers!

I'd sure like S14 to be compatible with win11 - currently looking for info and people's experiences with SOne4 installed unsupported on Win11. . . . thanks!

I wouldn't be holding my breath on this combo. Can't imagine there would still be a large crowd out there using v4 at all here in (almost) 2023 and even more rare - those attempting to use it on Windows 11.

Also, not sure why anyone would actually want to stay on v4 when v5 and v6 are simply lightyears beyond v4's capability in almost every respect.

Windows 11 was released in 2021.
The last version of Studio One 4 was released in 2020. So of course there won't be any changes to Studio One 4 (or 5). So either it works properly on your system or it doesn't. If it does not work, this situation will not change.

Plenty of choices.
Stay on Win 10 OR
Upgrade to V6 OR
Backup, update to Win 11, and try it (it will probably work). Otherwise roll back (or upgrade to V6).

Your hardware working on Win11 is more of a concern.

Intel i9 9900K (Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE motherboard), 32GB RAM, EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers).
Dell Inspiron 7591 (2 in 1) 16Gb.
Studio One Pro 6.x, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit, also running it on Mac OS Catalina via dual boot (experimental).
Presonus Quantum 2626, Presonus Studio 26c, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport Classic (1.45), Atom SQ, Atom Pad, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, a number of hardware synths.

Running xp with 4gb of ram here. Can load 200 instances of omnisphere, no issues.

How about some real estate? I have a lovely ocean-side property in Indiana.

Bye......
