Hi

I used to be able to set the cursor to, say, start of bar 5 for instance and playback would start from there. Now what ever I do it always starts at bar 1. I have noticed that I now have a green marker (which I do not recall seeing before) and that I can change the start position by moving that which is more effort than just clicking at the point I want to start from. So any ideas how I get back to just moving the cursor to where I want to start from and get rid of the green marker? I have looked at the manuals and googled but nothing seems to tell me what to do. I know this probably going to be something obvious but its really starting to bug me now.

Perhaps this will help:

Under Transport -> Options select "Return to Start on Stop"

Now when you stop the song it will go back to where you previously started the song.

Thanks for replying, I did see that but its not really what I was looking for but I appreciate you replying. Funny thing is I was working on another song and that is behaving exactly as I want, i.e I move the cursor to where I want to start from , left-click in an empty space which puts a vertical line at that point and thats where playback starts from. There is also no little green marker, see attached image of what I am talking about, so I guess what I need to do is get rid of the green marker but nothing I do does that, I also have no idea how it got there in the first place.

1. Right click on the transport area and Un Check = Enable Play Start Marker

2. Preferences/Adv/Editing- Check the box = Locate When Clicked in Empty Space

That was it, thanks very much. I knew it must something obvious like that but I just couldnt see it. Guess I must have checked 'Enable Play Start Marker' without realising at some point.

Thanks again for that.

Never seen this green marker, didn’t know it existed - now I’m intrigued to find out what it does!

Windows 10 Pro/i7 6800k @3.4Ghz/16Gb ram. Studio One 6 Pro, Melodyne Editor, Vocalign Project 5, Superior Drummer 3, Izotope Music Production Suite 6, Komplete 13 and various other plugins. Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport, Focal Alpha 50's, Korg Pa3x, Korg Pad Kontrol, numerous guitars, basses & other antiquated outboard gear.
Maybe one day I'll actually finish a project!
