RX9

Hi,
Does anyone know if RX9 works better with Studio One than RX8 does? As far as I know, they still don't work well together.

Thanks,

Todd

I haven't seen a difference. If you're looking for ARA2 integration, or Pro Tools-like functionality via Connect (or Audio Suite), then no.

It's on Presonus to get it working, and I'm losing patience waiting. Pro Tools (AS/Connect), Logic (Connect), Reaper (Connect) and Nuendo (DOP/Connect) all have it working.

It is really unbelievable that this is still a thing almost 4-5 years later. Again - it's my one and only devoted "feature request" (in Presonus speak) - but it's getting a bit ridiculous and frankly embarrassing that Presonus (who must have specific ties with iZotope as their packages are part of the "Magic" swag pack that we get with hardware purchases) - continues to bypass this item.

They will spend several years building a "Show" module (That frankly I still do not understand the need for) yet this functionality - which would immediately sow S1 right into the pro-post world as many S1 users - do not use this software at all for music but for commercial production, promos, radio edits, voiceover, audio restoration and so on.

I mean - S1 cannot even offer us the option to use a third party editor of any kind. Frustrating to say the least.

That's what I was afraid of. No sense upgrading then. Thanks for your replies.

Yep. My dream of using S1 for real (ie: Broadcast level) post work has all but evaporated. I'm a heavy RX Audio Suite user in Pro Tools and while I cannot fathom that Avid hasn't fully integrated ARA2 yet, we can still use Melodyne in a pseudo Audio Suite way.

The fact that PreSonus hasn't figured this out - after a number of feature requests by Post users - is beyond and shows that Post isn't a priority for them. They seem to be content to sell music loops and sample packs instead.

Pro Tools has its detractors, but when it comes to Post mixing, only Nuendo is in the conversation with it. S1 has all of the makings of a great Post tool, but there are too many missing features - RX Connect being the most glaring.

iZotope for some silly reason restricted ARA2 functionality to only Logic.

ARA is a standard, there is nothing additional that needs to be done by Presonus if the standard is followed.

Most people don't know that Spectralayers Pro and Autotune can be used as ARA by dragging and dropping the VST onto an event as Event FX.

What I do is use Spectralayers 8 (ARA 2 by using Event FX) for Noise Reduction / Hum reduction, and then use RX 9 modules as Event FX (Mouth de-click, de-ess, etc). I've actually found in some cases that Spectralayers' noise reduction is better than RX.

I use this for TV commercials at the post house I work at. I have set up a pretty great workflow with it. But yes, would love for RX to work natively as ARA 2 / Connect

Thanks @taylorscott2 thanks a good tip - forgot that I had Spectralayers installed from Cubase.

I also can't believe that S1 and RX don't talk to each other!

I dont know what else to do with izotope rx9 advanced but the music rebalance and other pluggins don't even show up or work no matter how i install it...I wish for the next studio one they will have beat generator and a melody generator like in serato studio have and also their own music rebalance effect like izotope has that curently doesn't work for studio one and most of all have the ability to use 32 bit and 64 bit vst's, vsti's and plugins without using a jbridge ...if these things they will have all this in s1v6 It will be the ultimate daw and ill fork out whatever money to have these features and im sure everyone will switch after this

If you are expecting to see every RX Advanced plugin show up in S1 - you will be disappointed. There has only ever been a small selection of RX plugs that are shared out to an Installed DAW - by design.

Cheers
