i just want to share my experience with (free) spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover vst library

asus laptop
using win 10 pro
ryzen 7 4800h 2.9 mhz
16 gb ram
studio one pro 5.4.0 (now 5.4.1)

preamble:
with bbc so discover installed, via spitfire audio app
i opened new song in studio one
added instrument track
selected bbc so discover as an instrument
and selected my arturia minilab as midi input

clicking on (small keyboard) instrument icon on the track
bbc so discover instrument window would pop-up
and instantly completely froze studio one
had to use ctrl+alt+delete (task manager) to close the studio one

repeatedly frozing, no exception

then i startup studio one with plugin manager option
click-and-drag bbc so discover to disabled plugins
since i also have spitfire labs (free also) i checked if this (vst) library works
it did work, and not only that, bbc so discovery started to work just normally, as one would expect

restarted studio one, for curiosity sake
and at startup bbc so discovery is listed as disabled
nevertheless the same one bbc so discover works normally

weird thing
hope this helps someone with same issue

have fun

There's an issue with Windows Scaling and the BBC SO plugin, with Studio One 5.

The fix, per Spitfire Audio, is to right-click the S1 icon to get Properties, select the Compatibility tab, click "Change High DPI settings", check the "Override High DPI scaling behavior" option, and select "System (enhanced)" from the "Scaling performed by" drop menu.
