The interface is responding (lights). The input meter in the track view is not responding. The arranger track has a blank event. Yes the 48V is on. The input matches the I/O audio setup. I tried a different mike. The M2 outputs are working fine. Terry |
1. Im assuming your MIC input on the M2 you are using is the SECOND one since that is what your I/O is showing?
2. Open the Console and check the INPUT tab to see what signal is coming into S1. 3. What mics are you trying? No 48v needed for a dynamic 4. Check your M2 CueMix Console app and make sure that looks right. Make sure channel linking for Mic 1 and 2 is not engaged etc. 5. What OS are you trying to run with S1?? |
Hi Terry,
I bet your Mic stucks in Input 1 (left one) of M2...? The input source of the Track (vox audio #1) is set to "Input R", that means, from your pictures, Track waits on signals from Input 2 (right one) of M2! So, switch the input source of the Track (vox audio #1) from "Input R" to "Input L". Regards |
Thank you Shanbit,
I was using the second interface input after the other didn't solve the problem. Checking the INPUT tab, there was no activity on any (L, R, L+R) I don't own a dynamic mike. I do not use the M2 CueMix Console app. I don't have one. My Mac-mini's OS is Mojave.. Today I tried my Scarlett 2,2 and my Behringer UMC22 (2 channel). Same results. I've been trying new files too. No luck. Terry I'm going to try a different DAW next. |
Seems as if the interface isn't properly connected to S1. S1 can see it but no audio is passed. Can you reconnect it? (from Studio One/Preferences/Audio Setup). You can switch to the computer's internal sound card and then back to the external interface. Also check if everything sharing the interface (e.g. system sound) is on the same bitrate and bit depth as S1.

I would re install Studio One and trash the S1 preferences.
Ive never had an issue with an interface not showing up in S1 Try to Start a NEW Song as well and see if the issue is still there, may be a corrupted Song You also need to ALLOW the M2 in Mojave in the security settings in the system prefs/ security and privacy for Mojave M2 is fresh off the line as well so maybe a conflict with S1? Does Reaper work or no? |
Thanks for sticking with me.
I looked up the official directions for uninstalling... I uninstalled and did a new install. The uninstall included throwing the preferences in the trash. I have gone threw about 8 different songs by now. I gave security clearance to Studio One in system prefs/ security and privacy for Mojave. I don't know how to select M2 because it doesn't turn up in a search window. I don't have Reaper. Terry |
Terry50 wroteThanks for sticking with me. I would hit up MOTU at this point |
Hi Shanabit,
I tried unplugging my hard drives; I turned off the Stream Deck; I quit the engine for Keyboard Maestro; and I turned off the Wacom Intuos Tablet. Why do you say call Motu? The Focusrite Scarlett 2/2 and the Behringer interface didn't work either. I'm going to let Studio One's support techs give it a try. If they throw up their hands, I'll just have to record my vocals in Digital Performer and import into Studio One. Terry |
Hi Shanabit,
The minis are intel. The Beringer didn't work in studio one either. I made a support request. They said I have to make my microphone accessable in system preferences in MOJAVE. It's a new thing. Well how about that? Is that all there was to it? Terry |
Apple continues to make things harder for those who think "It just works"
Getting more like Windows these days only the OS is updated more often now to obsolete your system I recall that the mic in system pres has to be accessible with Mojave now that you mention it. Too much crap to remember just to get an interface going |
markwood9 wroteGo to System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Microphone and make sure the checkbox for Studio One is ticked to enable microphone access. HOLY MOLY! I have been frustrating with S1 for 2 days trying to figure out why everything works except sound (in my case DI guitar) getting INTO S1. This was the problem. I never suspected that the security would block anything but the built-in microphone of a computer. Thank you!!!!!!!! Jeff |
