Hey, the plugin-NAP is one of the best features for me currently because I do livelooping performances where I only need the selected track to be active and every other track can be in a NAP-state.

But as I see it right now it only affects the plugins which are effects like reverbs and such but it does not affect instruments like Kontakt & co.

Any way to make it possible to also work for these when they are not used and sending no midi notes? I understand that activating an instrument and loading samples takes more time than activating a reverb but it would be helpful for my purpose.

I'm already using the purge and similar functions in Kontakt but not every VST has this. A different way would be maybe if I can make it somehow with the freeze that selected tracks automatically unfreeze and all unselected tracks are frozen? Is there a way to do this? that could also work

I think some Instruments do the nap while some don't. I'm sure I've seen Serum is napping for example. So it's available for instruments but not for all instruments. I don't know why.

I just checked all of my VST instruments and couldn't get any of them to nap - Kontakt, Komplete Kontrol, Omnisphere, Keyscape, Trillian, Superior Drummer 3, Analog Lab/V Collection 8 and Korg Wavestation. I tried various combinations - patches loaded, unloaded, etc and still no Nap.

By contrast, all of my effect plugins (FabFilter, SSL, Valhalla, Waves, etc) all Napped. Even the Analog modelling stuff by Waves (Abbey Road emu's) and SSL channel strips all napped.

Instruments are not supposed to nap, this would be a good idea songs that have a "scratch" track for doodling.

Bye......

Saturn 2 from Fab Filter does NOT nap
any way to make it nap?
dropout protection=max
using 24% of CPU if the window for studio one is selected but
drops to zero if i select another window.
Also the column for plugin nap does not show the enable box for saturn2
neither for Melodyne but Melodyne goes to 0%
All other plugins (the ones i use) from fabfilter and presonus goes to nap when
nap is enable.
One more thing: the plugins used in MAIN does not got to nap even though they are enable but are at 0% CPU usage.
