Every X minutes, the autosave box comes up, saves Melodyne, saves all the plugins despite the following options ticked:



I thought this wasn't supposed to happen in 5.4? What am I missing?

All 5.4 does is make autosave used cached data which makes it significantly faster, even though the dialog box still pops up and prevents editing.

I think due to the fact that the 6th most popular feature request is "Auto save in background" people may have misconstrued the new feature, thinking it addresses that. It does not.

Yeah, I dunno. Gregor makes it sound exactly like it should be in the background.

I wish. I noticed it doesn't autosave during playback anymore, one could say that's not "popping up" I suppose.

Just tested this again, and I notice if I make changes to anything during playback of a long song, set my autosave duration to 1 minute, and force close the app after, say, 3 minutes, none of the autosaves happen, because playback.

Not sure this is better than how it was...

I have the same experience, autosaves only work when nothing is played back.
Lost quite a bit of work a few times because of this.

That's the danger of the new system I think. It's probably better to not use auto-save at all until they re-do the system to more closely resemble something like Cubase or Logic.

I think I will create an autohotkey script to type crtl + s every 5 minutes.

Hopefully they will fix this someday.

What is it with Studio One and auto-save? How is this so hard to implement?

I've set auto save to 5min and it does NOT work. I've lost work countless times with this.

Would you please fix it?

Most complain that it works too well or interrupts them.

You can check where your song is stored to make sure it's making backups.
