During playback, if I bypass a plugin, I get an audible glitch. This can't be right, can it? I know in Cakewalk/Sonar I had seamless playback. Is there a setting somewhere in S1 that I am missing?

It’s possible that the glitch is S1 resetting the latency compensation depending on the plug-in type and how much inherent latency it imposes on your system. Does the glitch occur with any/all plugins or just a specific one?

Windows 10 Pro/i7 6800k @3.4Ghz/16Gb ram. Studio One 6 Pro, Melodyne Editor, Vocalign Project 5, Superior Drummer 3, Izotope Music Production Suite 6, Komplete 13 and various other plugins. Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport, Focal Alpha 50's, Korg Pa3x, Korg Pad Kontrol, numerous guitars, basses & other antiquated outboard gear.
Maybe one day I'll actually finish a project!

Curious if turning off the plugin itself (De-Activating), or using Bypass? Please see graphic attached.
Ive seen the De-Activate do that.

Indeed, what is the plugin where this is occurring. Some look ahead limiter or compression type plugins used mostly with mastering cause very obvious delays in real time usage. (I.e. Izotope Ozone, and sone others).Thinking it's a latency issue as well.

Would be interesting if bypass eliminates the glitch. You could keep it in place until called upon.

Also, what is your current buffer setting on your audio interface set to? What are the results of changing it?

There are a few plugins that cause a glitch to varying degrees. The worst offender seems to be the Overloud Gem TapeDesk.

Since I hardware monitor through a mixing console, I am not affected by audible latency so, I have always just left my buffers at1024. I can go much lower than that without clicking and popping. Maybe 64? At least 128 for sure. I was led to believe that since I hardware monitor that running my buffers high would be less taxing on my CPU. Is that correct. That's how I always did it in Cakewalk. I hate to keep bringing up what I did in Cakewalk but, it's all I have to compare to.

Indeed, I was using the Activate/Deactivate button, not the Bypass button. The Bypass button does not seem to cause the glitch. In Cakewalk I never had glitches and always used Activate/Deactivate. I don't even know if there was a simple Bypass in Cakewalk. Either way, If I just use the Bypass, my issue seems to be fixed.
