I drag in the VD-DEEP to make a track.

I set the track's MIDI input to "All Inputs".

(All MIDI keyboards and controllers are setup correctly in "External Devices")

I can play the individual sounds in VD-DEEP from key C1 to D2#.

But the keys C3 to C5 don't play the styles in VD-DEEP.

I have tried this with all UJAM's Virtual Drummers and Beat Makers and none of them play the "Style" from my MIDI keyboard.

I can play the Styles by clicking on them with the mouse.

I have tried with other MIDI Controllers with the same result.

All my other UJAM instruments work fine.

I have tried the same setup in Cubase Pro 11 and it works as expected.

That's really odd. I just tried my DEEP with the default patch of "Pure Gold" and it's working fine although I'm on Windows with the latest 4.6.2 so different OS and S1 version to you

First, check the MIDI monitor to make sure your keyboard is sending the notes you expect and on the right channel. Second, um, I don't have a second! Maybe someone with a closer set-up to yours can try?

Yes, it's very strange. I have the MIDI monitor open and Studio One is is receiving the right notes. And like I wrote it works fine in Cubase with the same hardware setup.

All inputs is something you want to avoid actually. It's the source of different midi problems.

Select the input you want first.

See if that makes a difference, it's not a big deal but sometimes it can cause problems.

Thank you for your concern - but I am fully aware of possible problems using "All Inputs". I have tried all my controllers/keyboards as individual inputs, but I still cant play the "Styles" from a controller or a keyboard - only by mouse clicking on the style.

This one is eating away at me! Given that we know the correct MIDI notes are being received the only other things I can think of is that you've either mapped some MIDI note messages to other things or you have somehow mapped those plugin styles to something else (I don't even know if the latter is possible).

It turns out that it is the VST2 versions of the instruments that can not play "Styles" (Other than by clicking on them with the mouse).

If I use the AU versions of the instruments, they behave as expected.

Thank you Baphometrix.

As far as I know none of UJAM's plugins are in the VST3 format.

At least none of mine.

A have all the drums, basses and guitars plugins, plus the new GM-ONE.

I might be wrong, but I have't seen any VST3 from UJAM.
