Mix FX absorbed an insert plugin

When I opened SO this morning, I was missing a plugin on the master channel insert section. After a long search, I found it was absorbed into the Mix FX section. However, I cant find how to get it out of there again and on the other hand, i'd like to put another plugin in there.
How do I add and remove plugins from the Mix FX section?
