Please put your system spec in a signature... see mine for "How To".

Dropout on all songs or only one specific one?
Upgraded from Win 7 or Win 8?

Win 8.1 uses PC resources a bit differently... see this for common issues:

I upgraded from Win8 to 8.1 and had no issues at all.

Dropouts happen every time I record past 4 minutes. It seems to lag and then catch up eventually freezing and giving me an error message. This was not happening when I installed studio one.

Upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1. Cpu never exceeds even 15%, same with the RAM.

Hopefully What you need is in my signature now.

What sound card do you have?
Have you put in asio mode?
What is the buffer setting?
Internet connection off ?
Antivirus off ?

I can guess that your computer is a laptop, and you haven't audio interface.
If this is the case, download and install the asio4all
http://www.asio4all.com/
then in s1, go to option menu, audio setup, in audio device choose asio4all.

Try to defrag your HD.
good luck

Patrice
