yeah reggie black lion has made a name for themselves by modding existing hardware so it is nice to see them come out with their own product.

i agree whole heartedly that ALL interfaces are pretty dang stellar in quality now. even the cheapest 'crap' gives quality recordings these days comparatively that is. far far better than what some of us grew up with.

as for guitars... it ain't what you play... it is how you play it

@OP. I can't help but think you don't need to buy any new interface right now. Get the guitar, play it through Ampire via the Focusrite and also try some of the other software guitar effects things like Guitar Rig, Amplitube, BIAS etc. Most of them have a free or demo offering.

If none of those satisfy then I'd suggest spending some of your money on a hardware multi-fx unit and feeding that into your Focusrite. A hardware unit has the advantage of being more hands-on and you'll also have the ability to practice away from the computer with just headphones (or a Spinal Tap style wall of Marshalls...)

As for Zakk Wylde, I can't believe he chose the standard Hello Kitty model rather than the signature version. A man of his experience should know better...

@ kisnou,
Since you're looking at the Antelope Discrete 4 Synergy as possible 4 channel input front runner, just make sure the Synergy bundled effects are all usable (100% accessable through the DAW), and that they don't "Nickel and dime" (hidden costs, here and there) for certain things. I was looking at their website and seeing software bundle deals, yet some effects were suppose to already be a part of the original 38 purchase. I saw one review where someone mentioned some reverb model (auraverb) sounded great, but could only be used for monitoring and not recorded so some items might be just dangling in one's face, until you pay further.
Just do the research. Some companies dangle a menu of plugs in their software, you can't even open, just to inundate what they have. Rather than give you a separate list, they have to stick it in your workflow friendly face. Not a criticism as the circuitry, and clean output are still good. Just that companies often feel the need to have the consumer bight off half the worm, and then say "not so fast, buddy boy". Marketing strategists are slime at times.

Us consumers have to stick together. I like the Go for what air need, but have to look further.

Ok-checked. The 38 original, you don't pay over for but the auraverb is monitor only.

Antelope are running bundled Synergy plugin sales of 10, 15, and 20 at substantial savings up until April 30. It looks and sounds like some of those models are very good. They are experiencing some plugin issues with Mac based M1 systems. Probably to be expected, so at least they're honest about posting that. Always read the fine print. :) You have a PC so no worries.

A lot of the large format console makers are finding products into the consumer and home market such as Audient, and SSL as well. No surprise. Particularly during these times.

Yes, BAE are awsome folks. I met them all too many times at AES. They literally showed me original Neve schematics of 1073 , and 1073 PCB layouts. The subject came up when we spoke about the 500 series comparison of the Neve, and theirs. In reality, they didn't only look the same, they are as componentry permits, are the same. Only, they also pointed out a few improvements over the original that never made it to final production. All these cats, including Black Lion, Antelope, Audient. SSL, and the whole gambit are at the AES convention. Why Presonus has not shown up for about the last 7 or 8 years is beyond me (and a few others).
I particularly like talking to the engineers in the smaller booths. You learn a lot from their designs and talking shop.

right :) i wish i could attend a few shows just for the fun of it :)

p.s. and as a side note... i don't think antelope would put those company names on their plugs unless they are in cahoots with those companies. lawyers would have a field day lol

Absolutely. Send lawyers, guns, and money! :)
Yeah, companies will often make some target approximation if they don't have license to use the name, and approval.

@ sirmonkey - Nice semi-hollow 335 copy! Good luck! Bitwood does restock or order on demand. Nice that the guitars are also bench checked and TLC'd.

Yes, definitely. I just ordered it, so it's not actually here yet. But based on the TL (Bitwood telecaster) that I got, I know that it's sweet. And not just how it looks. I know that it's sweeeet!

I don't know if the original poster is still engaged, but Bitwood is a small company, with a huge
heart. As far as getting a guitar, I do recommend Bitwood. You can PM me, or even call them
personally... https://bitwoodguitars.com/contact (phone # at bottom of page)

I don't know, actually. I know that I can send a package to anybody, at any place in the world for a few dollars.
So why not this particular company? After all, all of the materials and parts of the guitars come from all over the place.
You can actually call Bob, the owner, who is the guy who actually assembles and sets up the guitars. If you go to the site,
his phone number is right one the main page (https://bitwoodguitars.com/) He's a super friendly guy, so feel free to give him a call.
