I recently upgraded from my old MacBook Pro 15” 2010 (with Intel i7 chip, 512GB SSD, 8GB Memory) to a Mac Mini M1 (M1 chip, 1TB SSD, 16GB Memory). Does anyone know what would be the safest Studio One Audio Setup preferences for preventing dropouts and committing to the most power when I produce music? I’ve already noticed that my new Mac can handle a variety of VSTs inserted in my sessions at once (better than my last computer), but I want to ensure that my Studio One settings are the best for my new Mac. I want as low of latency as possible and I’d like to avoid the “CPU Performance” icon (bottom left of screen) from clipping red.

Specs: Mac mini (M1 2020) > Chip: Apple M1 > Memory: 16 GB > OS: Big Sur v11.2 - Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen - Yamaha HS7 Monitors > Studio One V5 > Maschine MK3 > Nektar Impact LX88+

Latency is almost always limited by your interface drivers.
Low dropouts and low latency are sort of opposites.

Studio One has a nifty dropout protection feature where you set the lowest buffer size your system can handle, then choose how much "protection" (start with medium) and then turn on the Green Z on your master bus.

Now when you playback your session, you'll be using a high buffer size to minimize dropouts, but when you arm a track for record, Studio One will disable plugins with more latency than 2ms and drop the buffer to the low setting.
