Hello everyone,
Apologies for the basic question but I was wondering if it's possible to directly add a parameter as automation lane to the editor view (so not as a track automation). I know ALT+A gives you the automation in the track, but is there a shortcut to add a specific parameter to the Editor's automation lanes? Right now I have to do it manually with my mouse (select a parameter from the list and then add it), but it would be useful if I could do it directly from the VST/Kontakt with a shortcut. Particularly useful for orchestration.

Add a new parameter? which one? you'd be back to the selection box to find your parameter seems like.
I don't think you would be adding parameters as a normal course. Once you put in all the parameters you need in your templates you would be set right? Pretty rarely do I need to add parameters in the editor.

Presonus obviously didn't agree because they made it ridiculously easy, and I do in fact do it as "a normal course." The parameters I want to automate change from part to part, patch to patch, and instrument to instrument. It's simple and you don't have to template all your parameters in anticipation of one day automating them. You can: - Drag from the Control Link window (with the hand icon) to the Note Editor to add a lane for the last touched parameter. I forgot about this one and it's very useful as you might not want to record a part just to add a lane. - Move any parameter in the instrument GUI (or a controller linked to one) while recording an event on that track. I forget whether this has to overlap with the part you want to add the lane to. |
