I have an effect that I need to automate, but the values I send in the automation are typically tiny - 0 most of the time, 1 to 7 the rest of the time. This means it's impossible to see the precise values in the lanes at a glance, and only just visible when expanded. The nodes let me see that something has changed but I could really do with seeing the differences more clearly.

So my question is - can I zoom this at all? Or display it in a different way that clearly marks the changes but which doesn't require me to always have the whole lane expanded?

I agree. Has this been improved? Can't zoom in on the data line, like you can in Cakewalk.

Welcome to the Forum!

I don't remember automation being a problem, you can right click a node and type in a value if need be.

Are you having a problem adjusting the automation?

Cakewalk was the first DAW I used, Cakewalk 3 on a 1.44mb floppy.

I didn't have the box though.

I agree as well. Sometimes automation can be very subtle with changes. Therefore it is barely visible in height. When those lanes are collapsed, it can be difficult to see without really expanding the automation lane really wide open. A automation scaling feature would help that, for sure. You're best bet is simply collapse the lane while it's wide open. That way the appearance will show when called upon. You can also drag the lane over the track which puts it at the same height as the track. However, that's still not the ideal remedy by a longshot.

I'm afraid there's no automation scaling feature my friend. You can FR it. I'd vote for it. Until then, ....Ehhmm yeah.
