Great job. Plugin delay compensation is still broke sending a sidechain signal into a buss track with a plugin that adds latency on that bus track.. It's not even in the list of fixes even though it's reported by a lot of people. Three updates and it's still not fixed. Really. I am about done with Studio One now.

As a VSL and SO 5.2 user I am very very very happy with the new Sound Variations + Synchron Player integration that this supports. First of all its great to have hierarchical key switch support that VSL uses with their dimension tree, but to auto-populate this to SO is just great!
One note though: after updating to 5.2 and opening a 5.1.2 project, I noticed all key switches that were previously in the Key Switches lane are not shows anymore in the Sound Variations lane. Very annoying (especially for bigger projects) to but that all back.. imagine you have 25+ tracks.. So the golden rule "don't upgrade in the middle of a project" applies here. Nevertheless, very happy with SO "6.0" - this is a massive update

I tested it while the the live stream was on and posted in the stream twice about it and how to reproduce it. The response i got was it's working fine here. I am going to make a new ticket and see what happens but v4 is fine and 5.02 is fine. Just 5.1 and 5.2 are total bust with the issue. Ive kinda lost all hope of this being fixed now as it looks like it's been dismised. |
I like the new Section view in the Performmode, its actually a kind of clip launcher.
Unfortunately i couldn´t figure out how to bind sections to my midicontroller (atom sq). Can somebody help me out? I see no preferences to assign my controller anywhere... |
It's like the 4.5.5 that is the only one not crushing randomly all the time for me. I'm still expecting them to contact me while I wait on 4.5.5 until they look further into it and we are already on 5.2.
First minutes on 5.2 no plug-ins, fresh system MacOS install adjusting clip gain aaaaand crash. Nice updates on the other hand nice to see improvements that I will be someday able to enjoy in my favourite DAW.

Sound Variations are great, but still not ready for my EWQL Play, MIDI channel switching is missing ... I stay with Cubase.

ericma2 wroteHey anybody know how to add sound variations in to the macro tool bar? I figured it out but can't get them to show up in the tablet remote app. |
Public Service Announcement :
If you are using Sidechains in your productions and take pride in a well crafted groove, you should consider to keep working in v5.02, because all versions after that do not adjust for plugin latency correctly. For a quick check, just open this song and press play: If you hear more than one click, your version does not feature a solid end to end PDC. (Plugin Delay Compensation: Introduced¹ 2003 in Cubase SX2, implemented² 2009 in Studio One v1.0 and lost due to common erosion of basic functionality in v5.1) ¹ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steinberg_Cubase ² https://www.kvraudio.com/news/presonus_ ... _one_11305 end of message

I'd experienced a crash but I didn't get that the Studio One safety message. Also the Live Arranging doesn't properly work within the Scratch Pad. It replays the selected arranger after whatever the sync mode is.

IMHO if everybody logged a ticket about side chain/latency compensation the penny will soon drop.

First of all its great to have hierarchical key switch support that VSL uses with their dimension tree, but to auto-populate this to SO is just great! I totally agree with 'bastiaanmarcscholtemeijer' - we are 2 of many who were waiting for this improvement and it will be great going forward and bonus of auto population too! However, also like the poster - I have just opened up my current 11 minute full orchestral project to find all my keyswitching has changed to ? and even worse, the previous system of red lanes where you can see the MIDI information is now dead. I spent the last 3 weeks putting in hundreds of articulations using the key switch maps I created for VSL (and put on the community share - Exchange) and now they are not working properly. Surely, as they are just MIDI note on messages, there is a way of converting this MIDI track to the new VSL way of doing articulations? Please help - you will save me days of work! |
