I have a ghost instrument track that shows up in the console view every time I load my main song template...it does not show up in the arranger view.
In the instrument section(console view), three instruments are show to be loaded, but I still get the ghost channel even after deleting all the instruments...Does this make sense? The template has quite few plugins, buses etc.,so I would really like to avoid building the template again, thus I haven't deleted current problem template and keep searching for a fix before the template deletion...but that may be inevitable Happy New Year all! |
I had this happen as well. I was able to get rid of my ghost with some burning of sage (jk). After that, I clicked on the Instr. button to the lower left of the mixer view and saw my extras hanging around in there. Does that help?

Nope... still not showing up as an instrument track in the arranger view, so I can't remove it from the console. I just added an Presence instrument, and it shows up in the console, but not in the arranger view either... I'm gonna have to bite the bullet, delete the template, and build a new one
But that doesn't help with the other songs that have already been created with the current template... Small problem considering the current state of affairs here. Thanks for your replies! |
It just dawned on me: Instrument tracks don't show up in console view; Instrument outputs do. So instead of searching for a rogue track you should be searching for a rogue instrument. Does that make sense?
I just managed to replicate this by adding an instrument track, inserting an instrument and then deleting the track but not the instrument. To delete the instrument I had to open the instruments pane in in the console window and delete the instrument (and the channel) from there. |
Finally I got the answer from another post. In the Mix view have to click on the Instrument button at left and all instruments will appear in a drop down menu, those involved will be greyed out, just right click on them and remove them from there and those ghost channels will disappear from view as well.

Hmmmm...
Revisiting this again as I was hoping that when I installed S1 6 the issue would be gone, but the channel still cannot be removed as it has no instrument assigned to it. Completely recreated my template, and lo and behold, that channel is back |
Did you send this song file to tech support to see if they can help?

Thanks to Presonus support for providing a solution. I ended up saving the template as a song, then importing the song data into a new song (and saving that as a template). Buses/routing didn't get transferred over, but I did get rid of the ghost channel.
