Up tp 166.
I hope Presonus addresses this. After a long absence, Logic has been a lot of fun as of late. tg

Huge S1 fan. Cannot say enough how much I love your DAW.
But was very disappointed to learn that this routing was not possible. Now I have no choice but to use another DAW for my current project. Would have much preferred to stay in S1. I hope this feature gets added soon, so I can use it in future S1 projects. |

renaudblanc-bernard wrotefeugeu1 wroteI use Vocoder V within Blue Cat"s Patchwork, i allows Instruments to run as FX within Studio One and works perfectly. But it's only a workaround... I've also got Vocoder V working this way, and here's how I set it up: 1. Create an audio track for the voice part, with either a vocal recording or a live mic input. I called the track “Vocal Modulator”. Set the output to a bus with no output (so you don't hear this track when you're using the vocoder). 2. Create another audio track and set its input to the Vocal Modulator track. Insert Blue Cat Patchwork as an effect on this track. Since Patchwork’s slots can hold either FX or instruments, load Vocoder V into one of the Patchwork slots. 3. In Vocoder V Advanced settings, make sure the Voice Input tab is selected, not Sample Player. The generic “Vocoder” patch is a good place to start. 4. The vocal track has to be playing for Vocoder V to produce sound, so loop a good section and hit Play. Click and hold keys on Vocoder V’s keyboard, or... 5. If you want to play Vocoder V’s keyboard from a MIDI controller, create an Instrument track with no VI loaded. Set the input to your MIDI keyboard and set the instrument output to BC Patchwork. The Monitor button on this track needs to be active. That's it... |
georgelockwood wroteSO YES? You can sidechain virtual instruments? We can use Arturia Vocoder V now? It was the first thing I tested after installing Version 6 - Yes, it works 😁 You can also use HALion 6 as a real Sampler now. |
People above saying this now works with V6 - Anderton claims the needed sidechaining works.
I can't see how it works - I set up the side chain input and nothing happens at all. The vocoder plugin still beefs that studio one is incompatible with voice input. |

The issue is, one must use the VST3 version of Vocoder V. That, indeed, does work after establishing an audio track as the send for the sidechain input. Cheers. |
Are you sure this has been resolved? I recently tried to use Vocoder V and others in Studio One 6.5.1 and you can assign a vocal track to the sidechain input.
But as soon as you enable monitoring in the instrument track, the sidechain gets greyed out and doesn't pass audio to the plugin. |
Also I tried to implement the setup that tremo suggested above, but I could not get it to "play live". Meaning singing into a mic, playing notes on a midi keyboard and hearing the results, because as soon as I try to monitor the vocal track stops working.
So if anyone here has found a cool workaround for using, for example, Vocoder V... I'm all ears. And I mean using it live, so you can play and record the vocal modulator and midi at the same time. It's been a long time waiting for this to be implemented, too bad. |
