Hello,

Today I was trying to find out what was creating latency in Studio One, and I realized that two istances of the stock compressor were creating 2ms of latency each, for a total of 4ms.

All the compressors in my template are stock ones, and they share the same settings which I then tweak, but only two compressors (one placed on an empty midi track, one on a multi-instrument track) were creating latency.
When lookahead was disabled, the latency disappeared.

I don't get it, is it normal? All the other compressors have the lookahead enabled. :?:

By definition "look-a-head" creates latency.

It uses the added latency to look a head in the incoming signal (in this case 2ms ahead) and gives itself more time make better decision on how to treat the signal.

If you disable it the latency will drop to near 0ms.
