The Listen Bus is a great new feature for anyone who uses monitoring plugins like Sonarworks, ARC, Can Opener, etc. that you don't want to print in your actual mix. But it would be just as valuable for mastering sessions in the Project page. Doesn't seem like it should be a huge challenge -- it's just a parallel output, and the Listen channel strip could go next to the existing Master channel. Hopefully it'll come in a point update.
Anyway, I started a Feature Request here: https://answers.presonus.com/54869/plea ... oject-page |
I don't use Cubase, but I saw some people talking about the "Control Room" feature in Cubase. This can take the place of an external speaker controller, with multiple speaker sets. I was previously requesting to add the Studio One Listen Bus feature to the Project Page. This would allow you to use room/speaker correction software, like Sonarworks, without switching it on and off (so as not to render the correction into a mixed file).
What about a feature (like Cubase Control Room) that was always available any time you were listening (like a listen bus), but it could have multiple outputs, speakers sets, correction software, metering, etc. that wouldn't get rendered into final mix files? It seems like this would be a HUGE improvement. |
Thanks to Presonus for adding the listen buss to the project page. I still think Studio One needs to have something like Cubase's Control Panel page. Apparently you can have multiple "listen buses" each with different instances of room correction, headphone mixes etc. This seems like a better approach to me.
