SOLVED - Chord Selector will not audition chords for me

Topic heading pretty well says it all. I have the "Audition Chords" checkmarked, there is an instrument assigned (which I can play in the instrument panel via my midi keyboard, so it works), I have the Speaker Icon inside of Chord Selector turned on, but nothing plays no matter what I do (I assume when this works you can audition the chord by just selecting another one, right?)

Any ideas? (Midi data records just fine from my keyboard and plays just fine using the same instrument). Maybe I just don't understand the chord track at all (although it works fine when I use it, like having other instruments follow chords I place there).

Some computer specs would be handy.
What OS are you on?
What version of Studio One are you running?

Have you opened the chord track right at the top? Set the loop marker for say between Bar 1 and Bar 2. Double click in this apace so a little box appears probably with C in there. Chord will sound now. Double click on the C Chord Bar to bring up the chord selector. Any chords can be tested here and heard. The chord bars can be resized now to suit your harmony changes etc..

All working fine with me. Either with Instrument I inserted or the one Studio One provides (MaiTai)

My test was on my iMac running 4.5.5

It's even weirder than that, apparently. If I start with a blank song and then add an instrument (say the Harmond) then it works IF I then select the Harmond as the instrument for the chord track. Okay, fine and dandy. Except it won't work in my own song preset (which has a ton of instruments from EastWest) even if I go ahead and add that Harmon instrument and select it in the chord track.

There's some sort of buggery going on with the loading of instruments I'm guessing. Somehow the VST loads are messing up this chord thingee. I might make a video just to show in case someone has some bright ideas on how to fix.

What version of Studio One are you on. We need this info. Much harder to help otherwise. This could be a 4.6 issue for all we know.

Also Windows, Mac? Some computer specs are also helpful.

Here's a video showing the issue (fairly short and hopefully self-explanatory):

Okay, I think by doing this video I see the difference -- with my template I have global mute and global solo turned on, and then I turn these off I hear the chords. Sorry -- I'm pretty new to all this and it seemed counter-intuitive that I could solo any track by clicking on it but NOT solo the "chord" area. I guess I'm squared away, then (so good to do this video).

Global solo and mute are best left off for normal playback. I would not create a new song using a template with them all on either. They will catch you out. They are telling you that something is muted or soloed and by clicking on global it kills all the muting and/or soloing at once.

Another thing too is that Labs sound had a very slow attack to it and you may not even have been giving it time to sound. You may have moving too fast as well for that Labs sound to even evolve. With listening to chords, choose an instrument that has a fast attack to it. So you hear them them instantly.
