Hey friends.

Its been a hot minute since I have jammed. Life and stuff - the usual story.

I was hoping to get a refresher on how to map out midi controls to transport - specifically i just bought a Midi Commander and have been using it with my iPad for live looping stuff, pretty fun, but I figured I could probably use it in actual recordings, Its handy to be able to control transport and such without fingers (while playing guitar for example) - anybody got a guide on how to map this stuff out - or even a link to the docs?

:edit: forgot to mention - I am still on Studio One 3

This may be more than you need, but I use a midi foot controller extensively for live performance, not just for transport control, but also to load songs into a playlist, mixer controls, switch window focus etc. The way I do it is a program called Bome Midi Translator. It is absolutely brilliant. Amongst many other things, It allows you to assign any incoming midi message to any keystroke, and vice versa. This means you can assign any function that has a keyboard shortcut in S1 (or any other program) to any midi footswitch or controller, even if the program does not support the ability to assign midi control natively. Well worth a look if you use a midi foot controller.

So, does this BMT work with the SHOW Page?
I'm trying to get my Looptimus Mini Controller to control such things as:
- Play
- Stop
- Next Song, etc.
And those simply aren't options available on the Controls Page. It seems that the SHOW PAGE only let's you control instrument or channel features; but there are no transport options.

There's a lot of keyboard shortcuts for transport. Your midi pedal can't trigger them right out of the box.

My impact keyboard has transport, came with devices made already to put into external devices.
They made a control for transport in external devices.

Never did it manually, there's a page on it though:

I'm not sure if BMT can put out keystrokes. That's what I liked about the contour shuttle it could send keystrokes and macros of keystrokes.

Here is how it works. Should work the same in Studio One 3.
