Hi guys,

So I'm trying to automate bypass of an insert effect on a snaredrum track, and I remember being able to do something like that by just setting the automation button on the bottom of the track to "read", then pressing record and then toggling on and off, which would then be recorded to the track.

Yet now, for some reason, in doesn't read a thing when i do it -- the effect just goes on and off while i toggle, but no automation is being created. What am i doing wrong here? And could it have something to do with the fact my insert is on subtrack that i've split out from a drum machine (using the "expand" button on the drum machine track and then routing snare/kick etc. to separate tracks) which doesnt contain a record button itself? The track i am arming is the "main" track, i.e. the track that contains all the midiinformation for the various kits pieces that i've distributed to their own midi channels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
