What is the "Assign in Ascending Order" for in the inspector under the Channel drop down menu?

I just seen this today and tried to use it but it wasn't working as I expected and I can't find any information on it. I don't even think it was mentioned in the release notes.

After clicking Assign in Ascending Order, it removes the instrument all together.
Studio One Pro 6.6 64 bit, macOS Monterey 12.6, 14" MacBook Pro M1 (2021),16gb ram, 512 SSD, 8-core CPU

Iv been trying to setup kontakt instruments and this little glitch is super annoying. Literally have to do this every time I need to setup a kontakt multi out. I dont know if I’m doing something wrong or this is a bug but this needs to be fixed.
