Lawrence, Sorry mate my weird sense of humour.

I really like what you have done. I have made some hex files of the basic colours, shaded from dark to light. Also some primary colours plus some grey ones that can be user changed.
This link shows the graded yellow swatches with the extra on the right.

I did have the idea if it was possible that by selecting one of the prime colours or the black one (see above where the mouse hovers) that your script could load one of eight graded swatches i prepared earlier. That would give instant access to the colour range. Selecting Black would give the grey scale. White maybe loading the default.

Even if you cannot click and load these files, they can be loaded via your drop down menu. Slower but do-able.

The way I coloured the tracks shown was to select the top track and pick the darkest yellow and then arrow down and mouse click the next swatch, quick really.

Picking the really dark swatches never gives that true colour either in the tracks or console but it does give a slightly deeper colour that Presonus's colours.
Just be aware that selecting a really dark track makes viewing the waveform difficult.

I’ve been reading about updates so I wasn’t sure if that specific link would include the new stuff.

I thought it might be interesting to see what other DAWs provide as choices for selecting track colors. So attached you'll find a zip I put together containing Hex files for a few of them. Just choose (after unzipping) the "Import Hex Colors" in the drop down menu.

Let me know if you're interested in any other DAWs to add to this list.

Lawrence wroteInstrument tracks and their related mixer channels are different objects in Studio One. Audio tracks and their corresponding mixer channels are always the same object. It works the same natively, if you color an instrument track that doesn't have some direct correlation or link to a mixer channel it doesn't apply there either.

I didn't want to complicate the workflow with an optional switch for coloring bus channels or VI multi-outs and all that. Wanted to keep it simple.

I am a little surprised by the level of reaction to this little simple tool. Maybe the mods should move it to the Tips and Tricks forum so it won't be cluttering up the user support discussions. (<-hindsight being 20/20 and all that)

Very cool stuff indeed... and down the road, it sure would be great to have that optional switch for mixer channels too, but I suppose that defeats the purpose of something simple, and it might take to much time for an individual request.... thanks again!

@lawrence, is it real to make somethink like this (it's my 1st version of Track Inspector script for Reaper) for Studio One?
I've try to code for S1, but created only 2 small scripts for show/hide disabled tracks, becouse I can't find any docymentations=(

Pretty sure Lawrence got raided by the software police. They usually drop down like a S.W.A.T. team unannounced.

I think I am partly responsible for sometimes driving up the joke-per-serious-comment ratio here. We do not make fun of people here, unless we really, really have to.

Personally, I thought you could have been a bit more tactful about telling Lawrence what was missing from his script. I then made a joke about the N missing in your thanks — which was the only thing missing to make it a complete, full-featured THANKS.

After that, I think everybody started drinking too much, there were things said in anger. People were too high. It was raining outside; the roof was leaking. Some of us had just gotten out of prison. The dogs were hungry and eating one of the kids. You know...typical Saturday afternoon stuff.

Anyway, the only way we'll know who is right is by seeing who gets to heaven and who gets burned alive for all eternity. Apparently that's how these things are decided. So let's wait it out and see what happens.

This thread is 4 pages long, and has been positive, with some mixed banter along the way. If you're overly sensitive about your 2nd language, you shouldn't be. After all, you speak/write a 2nd language far better than I (and largely many others in this forum). I find it very easy and go out of my way to assist others where their English isn't so good (far less developed than yours). Feel free to contribute scripts in any way you like to the color track colors. Thats excellent. Yes documentation is limited.

Your contribution to assist was always understood, and joking is our way of ribbing (having somen fun) with each other. If I offended you in any way, it was not intended. Still, I apologise for any confusion my words may have caused.

There was a mention early on about only so much toward scripting allowed, and not interfered.with the source code. Still a few users have asked for improvements, so where that will lead remains to be seen.

So far, the color script addition has been a nice touch.
