Hi, dear community!
I'm new here and just started to dive into the world of studio one 4. When I try to reduce my "Device Block Size" before using my mic to record I get big lags completely interrupting my recording and all sound coming from the DAW. The block size I use is around 200 samples right now, which I found was the best but not ideal. I do not get the spike lags as frequently in ish 200 samples contra the delay from my mic to my headphones. It's really really annoying to get these random lags...so I would be very grateful for the support and help!! I use a iRig Keys I/O as my interface. ASIO4ALL v2 and my PC spec is: Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5 4690K @ 3.50GHz 34 °C Haswell 22nm Technology RAM 32,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz (10-10-10-27) Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Download and use latencymon.
Regardless you are only using onboard chipset..."Realtek High Definition Audio" Buy a decent audio interface. Even a cheap Focusrite Scarlet will do. If you do just make sure you fully remove ASIO4ALL before you install the drivers for it. EDIT Oh "iRig Keys I/O" is the audio interface. Is there a firmware upgrade for it? It seems it is relying on ASIO4ALL for drivers, and there are no dedicated ASIO drivers for it? If so I don't really hold much confidence in it as a decent audio interface. Get a scarlet or something

Have you tried it with the WASAPI drivers?
This is from the IK Multi web info. : “Fully supports Windows 10 WASAPI for low latency audio. One free USB port. (ASIO4ALL is required on Windows 7 and 8 for low latency audio. See our FAQ here for further details.) “ So sounds like one would have to use ASIO4ALL on win 7 and 8, but the wasapi drivers on Win10. I don’t have one myself so I can’t test anything. Another option would be to put in a help ticket at IK Multimedia. |
Good idea. Fully uninstall ASIO4ALL and reboot first.

To use the wasapi driver I understood it as changing the option from ASIO4ALL to windows audio in the "Audio Device" option in Studio one 4?
Doing this I get a big sample size and can't even get the mic to work.. I feel a bit tricked as IK Multimedia advertises this device as a working audio interface....but it seems like I need to buy a stand-alone interface...Been searching for a solution but haven't found any yet. I opened a ticket at IK multimedia though...so let's see how that goes. |

dennisnoubarpour wroteHave not, but still the windows audio does not have the "changeable" blocksize... it's just too basic. Im stuck with the 450 blocksize, and cant even make the audio interface work. OK I said you need to *try* it with ASIO4ALL fully removed, not just disabled, and reboot PC - 3 times now. If it doesn't do anything you can simply install ASIO4ALL again. Over and out.

Have you tried iK's forums? Googling looks like there are posts there about getting it work in WIndows 10. I'd look further but you need an account just to read their forums... Even posts about it not working with other DAWs besides S1 can be helpful.
Good luck! |
