So the loudest issues in the forums were that the VST scanner would not reset correctly even after pressing the blacklist button, the workaround was to remove and then add the folder plugin paths. Often people would install plugins and the plugin would not appear until this is done.

The other issue was Windows 7 users only whereby the VST scanner would crash. The workaround is to roll back nVidia drivers,

Has this all been fixed? (Don't see it in the release notes may have missed it).

Intel i9 9900K (Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE motherboard), 32GB RAM, EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers).
Dell Inspiron 7591 (2 in 1) 16Gb.
Studio One Pro 6.x, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit, also running it on Mac OS Catalina via dual boot (experimental).
Presonus Quantum 2626, Presonus Studio 26c, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport Classic (1.45), Atom SQ, Atom Pad, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, a number of hardware synths.

Still Studio One does not read the tempo of wav files (in BPM) in files browser :-( With REX files, everything is ok. So you can not work well with loops in wav format because stretch audio files to song tempo does not work :-(

BTW, not mentioned in the release notes (unless I missed it), is that Presonus has now implemented a subframe offset in the video engine as of this release 4.0.1. Thank you, Presonus!

This resolves a problem on Windows where videos of certain common codec settings were previously NOT frame accurate in the Presonus video engine... and now they ARE frame accurate, as of 4.0.1. Specifically, for example, MP4 video at 23.976 fps at common key frame settings, would NOT be frame accurate in Studio One 4.0.0 and 3.5.6, but now you can specify a "-1.1" offset in 4.0.1 and those videos will sync up perfectly!

Thanks again, Presonus, this is actually very critical to people working with video files on Windows, and a hugely important fix!

FYI -- this issue did not affect OSX users.

About two weeks ago, I reported an issue to Kanghelm that the VST3 version of DC8C 3 wasn't updating it's latency correctly (VST2 version worked fine). Tony got in touch with the Presonus devs who resolved the issue in what was a beta build at that time, so I'm going to guess that there's an undocumented fix around latency reporting in VST3 plugins too.

Win7 scanning issue may have been fixed (one user reports it as fixed) but it is not in the release notes.

The other scanning issue - no idea.

Yeah, I think there are likely several fixes that did not get "officially" listed in the release notes. The subframe video offset thing I mentioned is actually a big deal, it should go under "New features and Improvements" but it's not there either.

According to them, all issues with vst scans were related to 3rd party issues. Some third partys have responded with fixes other have not.

"Them" I assume is Presonus?

1) The windows 7 scan issue, I don't think Nvidia or MS has patched it.

2) The scanning issue which could be resolved by removing and adding a plugin path. That was effecting multiple plugins from different suppliers.

None of them had issue under V3.

So it does not look likely to be third party issues myself esp. if they've been resolved already.

At least from my perspective it does not make sense.

Nvidia has an updated driver as of June 26th... That may or may not be related to it working for the one person who said they installed "the latest" (they didn't specify the version).

Here's the Nvidia driver details:
Version: 398.36 WHQL
Release Date: 2018.6.26

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverRe ... 5675/en-us

There is a possibility it was fixed a couple weeks ago, but people didn't try it (or they didn't say it was fixed because they were convinced it was/is a PreSonus issue).

No idea... until people report the version(s) that are working/not, there is no way to know.

If you're not sure, why not try out the latest drivers and report back? If it doesn't work, rollback the drivers and let people know. It may take you twenty minutes to confirm. If I had an Nvidia card and a S1 v4, I'd give it a go myself.

Neither of us are on Windows 7 so I can't help. It's probably best left to the other thread.

I've just checked.. first i installed the latest nvidia driver (398.36) and then ran studio one v4 .. same problem .
I rebooted and then installed the studio one update (4.0.1) .. same problem
I then rolled back the nvidia drivers to previous state (388.59)
no problem.
Conclusion: The Win7 Plugin scan crash problem has NOT been fixed with this update.
Let's hope they fix it soon
Thankfully I run 2 machines, main machine is Win10 so no problems there.

Just my opinion (I'm not a mod) but I think the Win7 plugin scan discussion should go here now:
viewtopic.php?f=151&t=30274&p=177944#p177944

We have one person on this thread saying it isn't fixed and one person on the original thread saying it is.

We risk fragmenting the original discussion, and hijacking this thread a little.

Thx.

Mmmm...
See nothing in this release to get me salivating yet, seems mostly to be cosmetic fixes (not new features) maybe those details that they hadn't quite shoehorned into the programme prior to the v4 upgrade. Will most likely wait for v4.5 before crossing the stream - ymmv.

Read the release notes, these are minor/trivial and are all related to the last release.

It's a bug fix release.
