Just want to ask if anyone here had purchased Studio One 3 Pro from Sweetwater, and has now purchased the upgrade to 4 through Sweetwater, as well. That's what I am about to do (because I can take advantage of the killer 48-month 0% special financing offer with my Sweetwater Card), and would like to hear from anyone else who has accomplished the same feat without any problems with the licensing, the installation, etc. TIA!

I bought an upgrade from v3 to v4 from them, but received an email that said something went wrong with the licensing. They are investigating it at the moment. They also write they are my friends so there should be nothing to worry about :D

A Sales Engineer is assigned to you when you buy from Sweetwater. Call that person. I wouldn't email.

Peace!

Thank you for that, Jay. Sounds like it might be a pretty smooth transaction now.

I still don't think Sweetwater has their act together. I just purchased the Studio One 4 upgrade on their site, and immediately got a new product key in an email. Also in that email was a link to a page on the Sweetwater site that describes how to upgrade. It contains sections specifically for entering the product key for a NEW product registration, and for an UPGRADE. The upgrade description speaks of elements on the PreSonus site that aren't there. I'm supposed to log into my PreSonus account, find my Version 3 product, click "View More Details", and right there near the product key, there is supposed to be a green "Upgrade" button, where I would enter my Version 4 product key. That does not exist. I am inquiring with my Sweetwater Sales Engineer, but I'd like to ask here, too. What is the proper way to activate the Version 4 install with the new product key, in order to retain the Version 3 product key in my PreSonus account, and the activated Version 3 app running on my machine. I really want to do this the RIGHT way, because I don't want to loose my ability to roll back to Version 3 if there are any major problems with 4.

EDIT: Deleted reference to attached screenshots, because they had to be removed. Apologies.

No, I ended up cancelling the order and ordered from Jrrshop instead, worked perfect :+1

Whenever you order software from a third-party reseller, you run the risk of delays. It's something I factor into the convenience/cost equation whenever I buy something online. Buy from the maker, and get an instance license, or save a few bucks and potentially have to wait. The benefit to buying from the software maker is that they also get the entire purchase price, so it's nice to offer more support that way, particularly for smaller companies.

But in my experience, regardless of whether it's JRR Shop or Sweetwater or whoever, the license will eventually come but can take a few days. Especially for orders placed on a weekend. I had one particular experience where I bought an M-Tron expansion from JRR shop to save a few bucks and had to wait a week to get it due to some licensing issue between them and G-Media.

AMD Ryzen 3950X, ASUS Creator x570 Mobo, 32GB HyperX Predator RAM (3600mhz), Radeon™ RX 5500 XT 4GB GDDR6 graphics card, RME Fireface 800, Windows 10 Pro, Studio One 5, Reaper 6, Cubase 10.5, Avid Artist Mix (EuCon please), Behringer X-Touch One, MIDI Fighter Twister, various other MIDI control surfaces and hardware instruments

Of course that's all pretty common sense stuff, and I get it. However, when your cash flow is crap, but your credit is good, it does pay to take advantage of special financing to make these critical software purchases even possible. When I can use the Sweetwater Card and pay $8/month over 4 years at 0% for Studio One Pro, that's where I'm gonna have to go. Same for the upgrade. I haven't had one problem with doing all this through Sweetwater. When I bought the 4 upgrade this morning, I had my new product key within seconds. I'm ready to use it. The point I'm at right now is that I just want to activate my new 4 license without killing the 3 activation. And when people are providing instructions for just how to do that, and those instructions don't match the reality as I observe it, you kinda have to take it baby step by baby step, and make absolutely sure it's done right. PreSonus is still getting what I feel is a fair chunk of change for this new version.

Just following up on this thread, with a little closure now.

Sweetwater support got back to me and validated my report that their information regarding registering the upgrade to Studio One 4 Pro with PreSonus has some errors, and they will fix those. Meanwhile, they told me to just hit the "Register a Product" button under my PreSonus account, select "Software & Extensions", enter the Studio One 4 Pro product key. The product to which the upgrade key may be applied is then shown (in my case, Studio One 3 Pro), and you click "Upgrade". Done. Now, according to the My Products page under my account, I have both Studio One 3 Pro and Studio One 4 Pro products registered (didn't lose anything), and tonight I'll see how the download, installation and activation of Studio One 4 Pro goes.

Installation and activation of SO4 was a breeze. No adverse affect on the SO3.5 installation/activation. I am able to continue working in SO3.5 for current projects, and to start new projects in SO4, side by side. Everything worked out just fine, and once again, I am pleased doing business with Sweetwater. EOT
