I just tried Studio One 4 in Safe Mode. There it works, even with network drivers enabled...

Guys, I found a (temporary) solution.

I uninstalled the latest Nvidia driver and now SO4 is working fine!

Have to try an older graphics driver...

It really seems to be an Nvidia driver problem. I reinstalled an older version from November 2017 and SO4 doesn't get stuck any more...

Hope PreSonus can address this issue though, I like to keep my graphic drivers up to date.

We know there's an incompatibly with the display adapter, but we don't know what the problem is exactly. Might be useful for those with the issue to list their display adapter model and OS version in their signature (I know some have already).

Are there any error messages in the Windows event viewer that point to Studio one or the display adapter?

Just another thought..

For instance if everybody has an issue running the display adapter driver on windows 7, it could be Windows 7 needs to be fully updated (via win update) in order for the latest drivers to work... Or something like that anyway.

Mine was already up to date. Plus version 3 runs fine.

I did a few days ago, but heard nothing back. I was just given a repeated message regarding the License issue, obviously didn't read what I actually wrote.

FWIW - while antivirus disabling worked for me. Also using an Nvidia card with latest drivers.

Again please let us know the exact make/model of your Nvidia display adapters in your signatures (working or not).. and your OS. That will help people to identify which Nvidia cards are effected or not.

thanks for your reply my friend but I reckon I'll just wait until it's confirmed as fixed..glad I didn't buy it I almost did but my experience with Cubase updates has made me more careful, best to wait..

Hi Mark,

That may be caused by anti-virus if you are running any as we have seen anti-virus block the external plugin scanner for some users. If you are running AV temporarily disable it to see and if that's not the issue please let us know so that we can continue to assist.

What`s the point, maybe some one from this forum with some actual authority can report it please. Cus I give up going around in circles with support.

It's not -just- the latest driver that's a problem, if that's what's going on.

391.24 - broken (my previously installed driver until 20min ago)
397.93 - broken (released 5/24/18, now installed)

Same symptoms on both.

I have an EVGA GTX 980 Ti Classified Edition

Downgrading graphics drivers is not an option, here. I'm a gamer, guys.

EDIT: Win7 here -is- up to date. I have to keep it that way for security purposes for work.
