Hi All!
I'm not clear on the use of Track Markers in the Project Page? They don't appear to serve any useful function except to click on to reset the 2 sec interval and to reset themselves to the Track content but, as they are there, I must be missing something??? Cheers!

The marker track and the arranger track are two of my favorite features in Studio One! Multitracks can get big but the markers can show you where you are in your song. Hard to see, but these markers say things like verse, chorus, bridge, etc. very helpful when zoomed into a section of drums for example. Yesterday, I used them to help me organize a song and a piece of sheet music I want to work with. I was messing with the chord track. I marked the section and page numbers in the marker track and made an arranger track. Then I ran 'detect chords' with less than ideal results. I've done a lot of clean up here. Use markers to create sections in the arranger track (right click on a marker to see the option) and you can easily find sections and loop them. Use your imagination! : ) |

I think he's talking about the markers in the Project Page, rather than marker track and/or arranger track.

DrummaMan wrotecrussell wrotecrussell wroteThey are tracking down several Melodyne large issues. Yes, I also experienced this with Windows 10 Pro x64 and Melodyne Studio 4 The other issue is that Melodyne does not automatically display the blobs when opening a clip from SOP4 for editing. - you have to now tell Melodyne you want to see the blobs by clicking on the only track shown in the left column and selecting the color blobs. It's behaving like there is more than one track being edited...[/quote] The gray box is confirmed - Celemony said it's a bug in Studio One Pro 4. Hopefully Presonus fixes it in the first round of updates... The work-around suggested was to dock then undock the editor window...

It's been a while since version 4 was released, any word on an update that fixes the sample pool and other issues that were found?
Presonus support have acknowledged there is an issue and they are working on it, but didn't give an ETA for a fixed version. For me version 4 is unusable as it is now because external files are not copied to the sample pool and therefore "Copy external files" doesn't collect my samples, very frustrating if your work with multiple computers in different locations. Any patches released will be at the top of the forums plus you can.update via studio one. I'm sticking with V3 for at least 3 months for production, I never expect initial releases to be bug free. I hope they take their time getting it right and don't bow down to pressure.

It's the first time I've not upgraded within the Studio One cycle. There are issues affecting my current workflow (one of them being the Melodyne issue), so am staying put for now. My work flow trumps what version 4 brings new to the table.

Speranza wrote It's the first time I've not upgraded within the Studio One cycle. +1 For the first time since I have been a customer - I did not upgrade. Actually - let me rephrase - I have purchased the upgrade - but there is no chance I will consider installing it until I see some semblance of stability (and improvements) Given the complexity of S1 - it was inevitable that at some point - a release would come along that just does not "feel right" in terms of value (Stability, performance, ease of use) and features I would actually use (Cannot really see a lot here that I need right now). The last release of v3 is like a battleship over here and nothing makes me more crazy than downtime or chasing bugs. But I believe in Presonus and I will wait it out. (for both stability and hopefully the appearance of some more useful features) VP

Having used the upgrade for a while, I like the new additions and tweaks.
The pattern editor is not the finished article, but it is a great foundation to build on. It will be fairly simple for Presonus to add the types of features to the pattern editor that people have been saying is missing...I suspect a point update will deal with it...maybe even a more direct way of getting to the pattern editor- it deserves it! Chord track is also a great start- extracting and changing chord progressions is pretty cool...I suspect we will get more development here when ARA2 is officially published by Melodyne (Presonus have said as much!) I am pretty much a happy camper! Its a from me. |
Not sure if this is in this thread or not or even if I just did something I couldn't figure out how to undo but today I programmed a pattern in Impact and then afterwards, Impact wanted to be played on every other midi track I started from the controller keyboard. Crazy thing, you would hear the new instrument AND Impact together but Impact was not showing on the mixer readings! It was as if Impact had become HAL from 2001.
So, I had to bounce Impact to audio and delete the entire channel to get it to stop.

Edit with Melodyne completely broken and so it goes.....freezes, crashes, absolutely non usable. Ok...update. It just seems to be happening with some of my older files. Not sure this really needs attention.
