Selecting audio split event moves it - annoying!

I have been doing a lot of audio editing recently of vocals which have comps of several takes split into several audio events. I have noticed that sometimes when clicking to select an audio event it actually moves it slightly like a small nudge. This is annoying as you have to move it back to its original position (you are safest selecting undo move as you can't always be sure that you will manually move it back again correctly). This doesn't seem to happen every time but you begin to doubt things when it does happen as to whether you missed other similar nudges of events.
Does anyone else have this problem ? Why does a click on an audio event get interpreted as a nudge of that part? Is there a sensitivity adjustment?
You could set Snap to Grid on, I guess which would negate small movements, but that is pointless when you are trying to edit audio events which require small adjustments - turning Snap on and off constantly is not a solution when doing a lot of editing.
