Hi- I'm having a very frustrating problem where on a seemingly random basis, S1 goes into a loop reporting "Reset requested by audio device" about every second and refuses to play anything. If I look at the "messages" window it looks like this:
Restarting S1 doesn't help. I have to reboot, and even then sometimes it doesn't fix the problem. Changing ASIO latency doesn't help. I exited S1 and started SONAR to see if it would have a similar issue. SONAR would play, but with lots of crackles and pops, as if the latency was way too low. The funny thing is that if I changed the ASIO latency to anything and changed it back IN SONAR it fixes the problem for SONAR AND S1. This is really annoying and messing with my workflow, any ideas? S1, All my drivers and firmware are up to date. I originally posted this as a reply to an old thread where it seemed like the OP was having a similar issue, but got no responses so I deleted it there and am re-posting as a new topic. Apologies for that. |
Sounds like a support ticket.
I would backup your systems and do a re-install of Studio One. Note all your VST paths before hand. Then do the same to your audio driver. Make sure you have the latest Window's software installed and turnoff all your virus/malware protection when re-installing S1 and your drivers. Then turn them back on. |
Bbd wroteSounds like a support ticket. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. Wanted to post here to see if maybe there's a simpler solution, but doesn't seem like it. Of course this happened in the middle of a job, at the maximum inconvenience point Thanks for the advice, |
Hi there,
Can you confirm if a solution was found for this, just upgraded to Studio One 4, hoped the issue would go. It was apparent on One 3. I use the Komplete Audio 6 hardware. Worked at the start then started asking this after one of the studio 3 updates, now 4 has it too. Can still work, just annoying |
I found some information on this issue and will share it now. These tips may not help you but they may be worth a try.
Also, always backup your files before deleting or changing anything. Possible Issues and fixes: A. Sometimes refreshing your settings by deleting the audio device xml can stop it. B. Sometimes if the buffer size is set too low for the ASIO device it can cause issues.Try increasing it. C. Switch from using the Window's audio driver to an ASIO driver. If any of these suggestions helps you, please report back. Thanks. |
I experienced this when my machine updated from 1709 to 1803. ALL AUDIO APPLICATIONS failed to connect to my interface - TASCAM 16x08.
I backed out the update and all is well again. |
I work in the music area one day a week in a residential college. They are having IT issues there right now with Win 10 and audio interfaces being disconnected. Even internal audio being dropped on student on teacher laptops as well as office desktop machines. I wonder if they are related. Several restarts got the internal audio working again in some cases. Sounds like the same issue exists for external audio interfaces as well.

Sorry for not reporting back on this until now. What solved my issue was completely uninstalling my Lynx Aurora drivers and software and reinstalling from scratch. Have not seen the issue since.

After I disconnected my 16x08 and removed from the rack, I checked the TASCAM forum last time before throwing the 16x08 in the trash bin. There was a post there, with a link to a post in the Cake forums. A very simple fix in Windows settings. This also solved the problem with VB Audio cable.

the steps help to fix the problem:
1. launch the studio one 4 software 2. from Menu ->Studio One -> Options 3. in the option window, choose Audio Setup icon , then click button Control Panel, it opens a new window. 4. uncheck Exclusive Mode, Close, OK, 5. restart the software, the Reset Requested by Audio Device is gone. |
HP Elitebook 2570P, Win 10, 64 bit, core i7. Had same problem after trying to change block size program kept circle thinking. Restarted Studio One and got "reset requested by audio device" message. After a 2 hour episode of clearing all audiobox USB files according to PreSonus instructions, I uninstalled and reinstalled "Universal Control" (Jul 2020 version). Changed block size on Universal Control to 256, restarted Studio One (Artist) and ouala...the problem was gone!
