I recently bought two Waves plugins -- Abbey Road Plates and TMG 12345 -- and they are not appearing in the lost of effects.

I have closed and re-opened Studio One (running 3.5.4, on OSX Sierra, btw)

When I look in the library locations for VST plugins, all I see is "WaveShell-VST 9.91.vst", and that does not show up in the S1 effects list either.

I have successfully used Waves Central to "Install and Activate".

Any ideas?

Go to the vst locations tab, and make sure scan at startup is selected, and also check off reset blacklist. Save this, close and reopen Studio One.

When you first load S1, the scrolling messages as things load, do you see a line saying its loading Waves Shell 9 VST or something similar? I see this every time I load S1. Waves shell is not a normal VST, it is some wrapper for their stuff I believe.

I should know this since I have done it so many times, is there not another step after activation to place it on your computer?. Maybe I am getting my ILOK and Waves license process mixed up. You could download the demo of Reaper and check if it sees them.

I do see the WavesShell plugin listed in the scan list.

I also see the .bundle plugin files for the the individual, actual plugins, which now exist in both the VST and VST3 folders in my Library path.

I don't normally have the scan box checked. So when I buy something I go in and check it then click apply and it finds the plugs then uncheck it. Guess should save some time on every startup.

Hi,

I have had this issue a couple of times. It has happened when I have purchased a new Waves plugin and have needed to reinstall Waves Central. I don't believe is a Studio One issue. I am sorry that I cannot give you a definitive solution but I can offer two suggestions that have worked for me in the past. These solutions assume you have already set and checked the file location settings in Studio One.

1/ Start Again
Is this the first time you have installed Waves in the PC?? ... or is it a reinstall with the new plugins? My experience has been that Waves seems to do wonky things when I do an upgrade or reinstall. I have found that to overcome this I need to remove every last scrap of Waves from the PC, Then do a full reinstall of Waves Central.

2/ Waves Licences
The last time I had this issue I resolved it by moving all my Waves licences back up to their cloud. Rebooting the PC and then moving the licences back down to the PC. The plugins then appeared in Studio One as they should. (Might have to do a re-scan)

I think suggestion number 2 could be worth a try. Let em know how you go.

I have this same problem, my waves does not work in studio one, I am frustrated with trying to fix this, it works perfect in Logic Pro, also my UAD plugins work in both Logic Pro and Studio One.
Anyone has a Fix for This ?

I tried again I'm only getting WAVES STUDIO RACK showing up. however I'm getting access to more waves plugins if I put the studio rack plugin on a channel. weird. but maybe that can help until there is a real fix.

Have you tried contacting Waves customer support? They have always been quick to reply and very helpful when I did. I would give that a try before throwing in the towel! Best of luck, I hope you get this fixed!

Peace!

I just purchased several new Waves Plugins and am having the same issue. All of my prior Waves Plugins show up but not the new ones. I researched the hell out of this and did everything that comes up by Waves and by Presonus. (noted links here) They did not work. Then I decided to add this new VST Plugin path to Studio One 4 and the missing "NEW" plugins show up.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves

I do not see this noted in any documentation and may be I missed it but this worked for me. Good Luck.

I added this to the pathlist and it works now finally.

I had this problem with my last purchase “Plate Reverb”. I just purchased C6 and had the same problem.
The support representative did some troubleshooting and eventually created this path:

/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3

I don’t understand exactly what was different because I’ve had no problems accessing VST3 plugins before. But it worked.

He also suggested that I share this information with the forum.
VST3 is the format they’ve officially qualified to use on Studio One.

OK so after being able to access my new waves plugins using the method above I found that using this path also loaded plugins I did not purchase. When you try to load one it comes up blank. So I deleted the path noted in my original post above and restarted Studio One. The new plugins were still there. What the FACK! This is not acceptable from Waves...seems to always be something when I purchase from them.

Hi All, I also got Abbey Road and JJP Strings/Keys as a Christmas gift and was having the same problem. All the older ones worked, but these last 2 refused to show up in Studio One plugin scanner.

Here's how I got the new ones from Waves to show up in Studio One:

1. At the home/start screen in Studio One, select the Locations tab and the VST tab up top.
2. I added a new file location for EACH of the plugins that were missing by including the "Contents" folder in the path:
[Abbey Road] C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Waves\Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain.bundle\Contents\Win32

[JJP Strings/Keys] C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Waves\JJP-Strings-Keys.bundle\Contents\Win32

3. Apply/Save the settings and rescan in Studio One.

**P.S. Before the Studio One fix, I did request to reset my licenses in the Waves Installer/Manager by sending ALL licenses to the Cloud and then reinstalling back to my computer. So if you can't get the plugins to work in Studio One after the above instructions, try reinstalling your Waves Licenses through the Installer/Manager.

Best of Luck!!

Now the easy way.

1) Start studio one.
2) Go to locations->VST Plugins
3) Take note of the locations in case you need them for future reference.
4) Delete ALL your locations. Yes ALL of your locations.
5) Reset black list.
6) Restart Studio One twice. Yes twice.
7) New project. Test your plugins

For me that was enough to get it to work, I didn't need to enter manually any plugin paths back, but if you really need to, do that.

Intel i9 9900K (Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE motherboard), 32GB RAM, EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers).
Dell Inspiron 7591 (2 in 1) 16Gb.
Studio One Pro 6.x, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit, also running it on Mac OS Catalina via dual boot (experimental).
Presonus Quantum 2626, Presonus Studio 26c, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport Classic (1.45), Atom SQ, Atom Pad, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, a number of hardware synths.
