When duplicating audio parts with event fx, it doesn't duplicate the event fx. Just tried it in 3.5.2 and it works. Can anyone confirm the issue in 3.5.3?

I just checked it on V3.5.4 and it all works fine. Events with insert effects on do get duplicated.

It works after duplicating track complete in 3.5.4 Win 10 64.
Hey Jeff. Didn't see you typing! Thanks. |
Thanks guys, I guess I might have to upgrade to 3.5.4. I wasn't planning on it because I thought 3.5.3 has been the most stable version for me so far until I discovered that issue. Didn't think that 3.5.4 would have solve it since it was an hotfix update. But I give it a go. Thanks guys.

So there must be something else involved here?
Jeff and Jim confirmed it works ok and Niles confirmed it has an issue?

OK, I'm thoroughly confused now.
This process is within my workflow technique and I may be doing such tonite as I finish up a mix. I guess I have to find out for myself by actually trying it.

So the issue was not with events but parts?

jpettit wroteSo the issue was not with events but parts? Technically speaking, events within the parts.

It's working here on Win 10 in 3.5.4, audio parts duplicated with their event fx. Actually, it also works in 3.5.3 here.
Audio Part = audio In a container, merge If it's not working for someone else, post steps to recreate. With audio parts you have to select the clip in the editor to get to the Event FX. Edit: I think the original post is unclear. It's duplicating the FX but always not the FX settings. Perhaps that's what the OP meant. I can confirm that. |
bug confirmed here,
1) Load a rex file 2) Insert an fx, on one or more slices 3) Duplicate the part Result: The duplicated part does not contain fx To work around the bug: 1) load a rex file 2) Insert an fx on one or more slices 3) Dissolve audio Part 4) Merge Events 5) Duplicate the part Cordially Patrice |
Can you do that without a Rex file since it was not mentioned in the original post?
Although Lawrence confirmed the parameter being lost is the another subtle step that people are doing that is causing this difference?

snb1 wroteAw man. Thanks for the update.Like patricemazmanian mentioned, dissolve the part prior to adding Event FX is a workaround. Another one is cutting/deleting the events and undo that before duplicating the part. Then they will duplicate along. Downside is, you have to do it for each change. This is an old bug btw. it never worked reliable when you added the Event FX after the merge. Also Event FX in shared parts goes completely wrong. |
niles wrote1) added the Event FX after the merge. So this is the missing step?

I reported the one I found which is subsequent duplicates sourcing from the Event FX settings in the first grouped event. It may or may not be the same thing being discussed here, no idea.
1. Hit G on a clip with Event FX on it to make it an Audio Part. 2. Hit D to duplicate the Audio Part. 3. Open the Event FX plugin on the duplicate and change some parameters on the plugin. 4. Hit D to duplicate that second Audio Part. 5. The plugin in the duplicated third Audio Part (here at least, no outside confirmation) takes it's settings from the first Audio Part's FX, not the second one that was changed and duplicated. |
