Cakewalk people ask for.

Another former SONAR here:

Is it possible to do this in Studio One?

Loop 4 bars
Set Auto Punch to record on bars 3 and 4 only, but the loop still loops all 4 bars?

Thank you,
-Charles

No
You can set a start marker and use pre-roll.

There is the "off topic" forum here, however I suspect some Sonar users may want to deprogram and detox themselves here first, as a half way house, before they set free into the broader and more fertile world  :

I am trying to toggle precount AND auto punch on, at the same time, but without success. Am I doing something wrong or is this a stupid question? In Sonar this was my normal practice.

Not sure why you would do that.

In S1 loop and punch in marks are the same thing so there is no exact equivalent.

Was just mentioning the ability to pre roll and then stop and return to the original point.

Because it is fast when someone just counts four and then I record two stems to the next four bars in series. It seems not to be possible.

Hi. I am also a long time SONAR user, that bought Studio One Pro yesterday.
I'd like to thank for the welcome I've seen been given to us coming from the "other side" :)
I'll do my best to read up on guidelines, and the manual, but will likely have some noob questions as I get stuck.
All the best.

Good to see we landed in the same place Ken. It's me, Charles (Sylvan).

As called out in the OP, there are differences between S1and SP and actually, many Cakewalk people have already migrated here over the last six years.
Here are a few of the Sonar like FRs more commonly called.
New Sonar people please add your votes:

Hi Zargg, you helped me over in the Sonar forums many times. It's great to see you here, and maybe one day I can help you!

To quote you "all the best"!

Hello!

I just made the switch over to S1 from Sonar. Great DAW!

My question is about the transport keyboard commands. I have the option for "Return to start on Stop" enabled in S1. Is there an S1 equivalent for the Sonar command "Stop with Now marker" CTRL+SPACEBAR?

Thanks,
-Brian.

There's a feature request for this. Drives me nuts that I can't just loop and record a few takes of a guitar solo with a lead in for each take. Hoping for this in a future release.

Here's the FR (I encourage anyone who'd like to see this to vote it up):

I am mixing a song for a cover band called Liquid Blue and they have some MIDI tracks along with the audio. I am getting sounds during the mix, but I can't any sound after I "Mixdown." I right-clicked and selected "Transform to audio" but it still doesn't work.

I know I must be missing something simple...

Also I tried to load an avatar for this forum. I am told to go to mypresonus.com or something. I do that and I put in an avatar there but it doesn't show up here in my posts. Man, I haven't felt this stupid in a long time...

What specifically do you mean before and after the mix down ?
