Hi all,

I've been working on making mock-ups of my orchestrations with virtual instruments using Kontakt in Studio One, and now I'm trying to set up a template with multiple instruments.

In the past, I've always used keyswitches to change articulations. The Studio One Expert tutorial says that you should set up a separate track for each articulation, like this:

1. Violin 1 legato
2. Violin 1 staccato
3. Violin 1 pizz
4. Violin 1 trem, etc.

But I'm not seeing how to do this with my VST, Cinematic Studio Strings. It has only one "instrument" for each instrument. Articulations are only available through keyswitching.

What's the best way to do this that uses the least amount of system resources? Are there specific video tutorials you'd recommend? Am I missing something?

Thanks!
Dan

Well, the way I believe it to be possible (and this is what I do) (if your computer has the resources) is to run multiple instances of the kontakt virtual instrument.

Instance 1 - legato strings
instance 2 - spiccato strings

etc

Scott
