Here is a link to the issue.

Using Solo In Place on tracks with mute automation and sends to FX tracks appears broken.

OK thanks.
It looks like a long ago gap in the design.
I will test later and send a report, but it may already be in the system but not fixed yet.

Android support sounds great....but ahh....come someone tell me how to connect my android tablet to my laptop so i can use it as a remote for S1...? I have absolutely no idea..! Bluetooth..? Wifi..? I've googled & the results i'm getting aren't making much sense to me...?

Yes, i have downloaded the app on my tablet. The first screen on the app tell me to make sure my android device & windows 10 are on the same network.....thats where i come unstuck. Do both my devices have to be connected to the Internet..? What network..?

Appreciate any ideas...

Thanks. IF i have found the right thread....then i've found 5 results containing the word 'network'...& i still dont know what i'm looking at...it doesn't seem to apply to what i'm trying to figure out. Surely there must be SOME relatively easy to find & understand info on how to get this working..?

I've gone through all 7 pages of the tips & tricks...cannot find any relevant info on how to set my laptop up to a network. Seeing as there is now a remote control app for Android, how would it be possible for someone who doesn't know how to get it set up, to find out how to actually set it up..?

Cheers

I recently opened up some heavy mixes I had done in 3.5 and noticed that 3.5.1 isn't as effecient on CPU as 3.5. Has anyone else noticed this? I had to render several channels and subgroups to audio just to be able to play the songs.

What's your DP set at? Max?

DP is set to max just like it was when I first mixed the song in 3.5. I've tried the different settings and can't find better performance. I'm running Sierra on a loaded mid 2014 Macbook Pro. All things being equal, it seems 3.5.1 lost some CPU efficiency.

Yes I noticed too on Windows (since 3.5 actually, DP set to minimum). However not really unexpected for projects with a high CPU load because since 3.5 Studio One doesn't utilize all cores (at least on my system it doesn't when looking at the performance meter, only 10 out of 12).

According to the release notes further optimization was done with 3.5.1.

There is a possibility it was at the detriment of another scenario.

I often wonder if any are seeing effects of multi thread plugins which compete with the optimization? I see clearly better thread balance between pre and post 3.5 but had not looked at 3.5 to 3.5.1.

Just spent two day tracking and editing session including the use of the newest Melodyne upgrade. Everything worked perfectly here. Feels solid with ~5ms rt latency reported on a 64 sample medium dropout protection setting. Pleased.

And yet everyone wonders why, alone in your room with a laptop and a bunch of plugins, you can't compete

Assuming that more Mix FX processing is coming our way, is it possible to engineer that protocol to run more than one plugin? I'd like to use Tape in conjunction with CTC-1, not just either/or.

Did you read the mix fx explained manual?

I dunno about everyone else, but I still have this issue with using the main 4K high DPI laptop screen and a large standard 1080p screen in Studio One.

On the right is how REAPER and all other software displays the plug-in on the high DPI screen, you can move it onto each screen with no issues.

On the left is how Studio One renders it, unreadably small! Same for all plug-ins...

The whole idea of being able to disable multiprocessing capabilities in VST instruments that are able to benefit from multiprocessing, is to prevent the host/DAW needing to compete with the VST instruments. When they need to compete something isn't working like it's intended.

Under normal circumstances the host should manage the load balancing of multiprocessing capable VST instrument instances (as requested here: CPU multicore support is needed).

Yes switching DPI scaling off does stop the plug-ins being tiny on the 4K screen... but it also makes the whole GUI look like a bit of an ugly fuzzy mess, badly scaled.

It's definitely not handling it seamlessly like REAPER, Audition and others I use do
