If you use electronic drums successfully in Studio One. Please open any song or create a new one with your drums. At the bottom on the transport bar to the left, click MIDI to open the MIDI Monitor. If there is any information listed press the Clear button to remove it. All I need you to do is press your hihat pedal once and release. Then tell me what is listed inside the MIDI Monitor. I mainly am looking for description, channel and port information.

If someone else has posted information that is different from yours I'd like to know. Thanks!

Thanks, I created this thread before I found out that Presonus refuses to support polyphonic aftertouch in Studio One. After seeing how the many requests of their customers over several years in multiple forum threads requesting Presonus to address this issue have been completely ignored, I am now looking at changing over to one of the many other DAWs that do support this common feature. Pretty much all available DAWs do, with the exception of Presonus Studio One. I may go with Cubase or Reaper but still looking. I need to know that the company I am investing in and with provides support for me and is proactive in resolving problems that are brought to their attention. As well as trying to provide the best product possible to their customers.

3.5 is here with a plethora of new features yet this basic midi function continues to be ignored. I HATE that this DAW is a paper weight here as I would like to switch to it totally but I cant. Im not dropping my e kit due to this lack of feature.
You guys take care

Why has this been ignored for years? I just bought Studio One to use with Superior Drummer and I can't even do cymbal chokes?

There is NO logical reason. It's not a major deal to implement it in the software.

Presonus does not care about the basic audio needs in a studio.

I, as well as many others, have done feature request, voted, submitted support tickets... any and everything that can be done has been done to get Presonus to address the issue... and they have ignored all request for several years!

I suspect this reply will soon be deleted as they have deleted several comments regarding this issue by more than just me within this forum.

I have several young people that I tutor on guitar and drums and when they or anyone else ask me about DAW recommendations, the first thing out of my mouth is to stay away from S1. I may even make a YouTube video soon showing how useless it is for handling these basic 101 studio task.

My question is simple do you have an FR in the official answers database with people voting on it?
Yes or no.

I went to the FR that Presonus Support linked to me to use for voting on this issue that was already in place. So yes.

I understand your frustration. I've been using S1 since 2.6.5 and have had an issue regarding Solo In Place with Mutes and Automation. It's totally fubared and unusable even with using the mute tool as a workaround. I can't use S1 to mix with, or overdub with outside client.

However, I remain optimistic that this will get addressed. I made a thread about this and an associated video to illustrate the problem and someone from support advised me they have been aware of the problem but have not committed to fixing it yet and to look towards future updates for the fix. I'm hoping it gets fixed in 3.5.1 or the latest 3.6. I've invested a lot in S1, but decided to hold off on any more investment until this very problematic issue, for me, gets resolved. I use Pro Tools HD and have, reluctantly, had to switch back until this issue gets repaired...So many great things about S1, but this showstopper, for me, makes it unusable for the time being.

I prefer to give them time to fix the issue. Then again, I can, because I have another DAW to go to.

Two things about the FR... http://answers.presonus.com/search?q=cymbal+choke

1. It doesn't have a ton of votes, relatively speaking. 69 total across 2-3 different FR's. Contrast that with almost 500 votes for undo which just got done.

2. Many users don't bother to search there first and keep making duplicate requests so they get split up and never rise up the list because the votes are split across duplicates of the same request(s).

As total vote by registered users goes, it's way down the list of what registered users are actually voting for there. http://answers.presonus.com/?sort=votes It doesn't appear that a lot of users are voting for it... or even care about it.

Encourage people to vote it up. Mixer Undo wasn't even on the first page of my personal FR wish list but apparently tons of other users wanted it so we have it now.

I appreciate your post and I have encouraged others to do so... but for myself, as I stated above... 'I need to know that the company I am investing in and with provides support for me and is proactive in resolving problems that are brought to their attention. As well as trying to provide the best product possible to their customers'... clearly they are not. It's not like they have to retool a manufacturing line that builds a physical product and it will cost them tons of money to address the issue. It does reflect on their concern for their customers, in a really big way. If you have an issue brought to your attention by say only a hand full of people and it is obvious that it is a problem with the software you are selling and not with the OS or interface choices people are going with and this problem was brought to your attention years ago and you do not choose to correct it... that is just pathetic no matter how you slice it.

I was told the same thing about Presonus being aware of the problem by customer support management a very long time ago.

What frustrates even more than the money I've invested into S1 is that I think S1 is awesome on so many other levels... It is THE DAW I want to use... but can't.

The remarkable part of all this is that Studio One is able to receive and send poly pressure messages on MIDI channel 1 (not the others), but simply isn't able to record them.
In other words when using MIDI channel 1 you can send poly pressure messages to VST's or even from VST's to the outside world, but you can't record them as musical data.

Vote for this one: http://answers.presonus.com/5701/will-s ... aftertouch, it's the one with the most of votes.
