I seem to be missing a trick here, but recently when I solo my lead vocal, for example, it doesn't include the fx sends, so I only get the dry vocal. This seems to be different behaviour to what I remember, though I can't say where it started for sure, as it's one of those things you don't notice until you notice - if you can understand that.

I've tried alt, Cmd, shift with the solo but to no avail.

Does anyone have this problem too?
Do you NOT have this problem?
Can you help?

Much appreciated.

Luke

It only does that here if I disable Solo Save on the FX bus, if the solo button on the FX bus isn't green. If it's not green, shift click it.

They should get created that way with it already turned on, but if you're using a Group bus for an effect return you'd have to manually turn it on for the Group bus.

Thanks, Lawrence, that's exactly what I was missing. I may have turned it off by mistake. Now it's working as I want. It even seems to work with group and stem buses - I have the fx on the vocal track, and when I solo the vocal track, the vocal bus or the vocal stem bus it works every time, so I'm a happy chappy.

cheers,
Luke

Oh yes... if you "directly assign" a track to a Group bus (as a child) it works that way for solo automatically. If you "send" to a Group bus with sends you have to engage Solo Save on the bus to get that behavior

In the first case a direct assignment is the track's literal output so solo always works that way otherwise you wouldn't hear anything on solo. In the second case with a send, the send is an aux, a secondary signal.
