So, I fired up Studio One Pro tonight(Mac OS 11.6, has been for a while) and tried to drag an audio file into a track and it wouldn't even take it. Every click was click then 5-10 second, then action.
I thought maybe there was an issue with the file, so I just tried to get an instrument on a track and it took 20 second to open up Mai Tai. The weird thing is it worked fine last night and all my other programs, including Ableton work fine. The activity monitor isn't showing super high use of CPU or is it using a lot of RAM (982 MB, Mac is at 50% overall). When I play a note with Mai Tai it spits out a quick blip. Also, if I just push play it will advance about a second pause and go another two or so and the jump backwards! That was After I disconnected the one midi instrument. Last one - I restarted the computer and re-installed Studio One and neither of those fixed it. Help. |
So after I write up this long post, I decide what the hell, I'll unplug my RME babyface - the interface with the most rock solid drivers ever, right? Unplug it, everything works as it should including dragging audio files into a track. I'll leave this here post in case anyone has the same problem.

1. Your BabyFace has a Flash update
https://www.rme-audio.de/babyface-pro-fs.html 2. Your BabyFace has and update for Big Sur as well https://www.rme-audio.de/babyface-pro-fs.html 3. Im assuming your version of S1 runs with your OS here. Hope this helps |
