Hello everyone, hope you are all safe and doing OK :)

This might sound a bit weird, and its related to Studio One 5 ,
but here goes,
I have not been too good in the last year suffering from anxiety etc, trying my best to keep going
but its been really tough. if I'm honest, lost interest in my love of music and here in particular, Studio One 5
Working here in the UK as an essential worker in retail, its been really tough too
Feeling much better now,thankfully

So how do I get back in the saddle, now? I have forgot a lot of stuff, lol
I have a couple of tutorials to start brushing up with

But maybe other tutorials?Lots of kind encouragement and poking by you nice people? :D
any advice would be welcome, :)
Cheers
David

David, I feel for you. It was a tough time for all of us, including me, and if (please no) we end up with another lockdown I'm not sure I could do it. But I'm optimistic that vaccines will be our saviour.

And it's a timely post because today in the UK it's unofficially National Hug Day.
So I'm going to kick things off by sending you a virtual hug. Admittedly it's a big, fat, bald-headed, beardy, sweaty, hairy-arsed man hug but I'm not giving you any choice in the matter.

Just start messing with S1 and most of it will come back to you. And if it doesn't then I'll send you another BFBHBSHA man hug. It's your choice but choose wisely. :D Just make some music, good or bad. Load up some of your old stuff. Just do anything to see if the creative juices start running again.

Wow. I guess I'm not the only one. I thought at the start of lockdown that I'd finally have all the time I wanted to dig in and work on music, I mean, I didn't have to go to the office, right? The day job was THE ONLY THING keeping me from my musical aspirations. Yeah.... Lockdown hit most of us hard. I lost interest in music for a while too. Thankfully, I'm starting to get my mojo back.

As was already said, just jump in and start playing. You'll get your groove back - literally and figuratively...

Best of luck to you and everyone.

That's it. Just do it. In fact, the thing that helped me the most (and this may seem counter intuitive in this forum) was NOT using S1 and the computer. I just sat in at my Yamaha MODX and played. It was fun just surfing through patches and not having to mouse around and wait for samples to load. But, if that's all you have, load up Omnisphere and go to town.

If you're feeling inclined to jump back into Studio One, I would say that's a very encouraging sign!

I forgot who said this but I always thought it was good advice: "Before you self diagnose yourself with anxiety or depression, first make sure you're not in fact surrounded by a bunch of idiots." Sometimes it's not you, it's them!

I wish you lots of luck and hope you have fun creating and making music!

Peace!

Hey it’s been nuts, you know? I go through extreme highs and wild lows. I sorta beat the stale feeling by selling all my rack gear and buying all new weird stuff. It’s been great to get me out of the rut. Keep your head up!
