Is there a way to turn off auto colour tracks and if so how do I do it? I want any track that I add to be the same colour like grey and then I colour them when I want to.

Yes ,when inserting a track untick auto colour , and choose a colour ( or not ) to your liking
All created tracks will have this colour

Just realised, using this Add Tracks dialog box is fine but when dragging an instrument in from the browser it still assigns a different colour to the track each time. Am I doing something wrong here? I want to drag and drop an instrument in and my tracks don't auto assign different colours.... :/

Not at daw right now - but as I recall there is a preferenses setting regarding this if to use autocolor.

Preferences > Advanced > Console > Colorize channel strips

That's the one. I thought it must be in there somewhere but I obviously had a blind eye! Cheers for that :thumbup:
