seems that this issue has to do with a mis-ended update effort. This is discussed several times in this forum. And presonus is begged several times to make an update-process which is verified TOTALLY in order to be sure that one doesn't have a half-ended oder -fulfilled firmware. Can this be so difficult?
remember the gain pot at the rear of the board? Should help, too. But best is to go with high level as far as possible and to attenuate at amps or speaker system controller.

that's right. Gaining is to make your signal being electrical right, before it goes to A/D conversion. That's really important. Volume is made by Aux sends (per channel) and by adjusting on your faders.
If you capture your gig, you can chose to grab the signal directly behind your preamp (meaning directly after your gain pot) or after your settings with the FAT-Channel. But always before your fader. This is also the only way to be able to make your mixdown in capture regardles of what you've done during a gig with your faders.
i'd like some kind of check, too. What makes me worry about is the lost of some scene-settings and presets, when making an update. Why does this happen? Why is ist impossible to save some portion of ROM for presets and settings? Or why is it impossible, if orientation in PROM has changed, to readout the SL via PC, sort them in the right order and flash them with the firmware?
and it's only your guitar you're loosing on your mix? Tried to use another channel for the guitar? tried to use another aux? sure it's pre fader? sure, you don't make a scene recall with "pots yes"?
Have made an update of your firmware recently? Trying to get closer to the source of your problem.

Carsten
can you say more about your setup? Especially power supply, UPS, loads, Amps, channels, phantom power using stuff, etc.
Can it be a power issue? Haven't heard about such behaviour.

Carsten

They'll be like.. "much better!"
That`s the thing I always have an useless Fader about half the way up. The guitarman`s girlfriend is always complaining about the hard to hear guitar. So I can make it louder. And if someone's complaining about the drums being to loud, I can make them quieter.
It`s one of the few things I think, digital boards can`t be better than analogues. Together with the right man on the light`s I showed some interested youngsters, how i can control the lights on an midas (yellow, green and red with the auxes, blue with the EQ). Thinking of it makes me smile again...
smart is great, but costs. Only useful, if you make such things more than just few times. I use the Room EQ Wizard. You can (on PC) use the SL as interface and select a free channel as input for your mic. This program has great features for low budget events.
first of all: WOW! Great recording.
I only heard a "strange" drum in your specified part, seems some interference between two mics.
Can you seperate your tracks? Or do you think, your "crackling" is on all channels? Eventually you can correct your crackling by using a gate or edit through studio one?
okay will try this. But this was only a test configuration. But it's worthy knowing that using as a normal source via soundcard is better than using SL as soundcard when capturing.
Thanks for suggestions!

i use itunes and the SL as audio device in the audio/MIDI Setup (via Firewire and 2 Track in). Playing back some music for ~45 Min and recording all 24 Tracks + Master. Then recording stops and Capture seems to playback (bar continues running but only play was highlighted).
After this (and therefore I think, it's not the SL) i wasn't able to record more than 5 Minutes without stopping recording again and only playing back.
Are there any additional settings I have to make on the MAC to let it record without interruption? Screensaver is disabled, W-LAN disabled and energy saver, too.
