Studio One & Sugarbytes Thesys

Hi,

anybody using Thesys ?

I do have this one but i have problems getting this one to work properly.

I have problems too with SugarBytes Thesys..., but also with any other midi sequencer.

I add Thesys(or any other) on a instrument track and route to another instrument track,
to capture the midi from Thesys.
It works and I can hear sound, but when I go to edit any other track then the one with Thesys,
the instrument capturing the signal from Thesys won't get any data anymore.

I have to highlight the instrument track with Thesys again to hear any sound.

So routing midi from a midi sequencer works only if the track with the midi sequencer is highlighted,
and get's lost when go to any other then that.

By the way, Studio One crashes on me when I have many tracks and audio on.
I have only 2GB RAM and I think this is the main problem, but I would like that Studio One
would stop and tell me that, rather then crashing.

But so far... Studio One is really awesome !!!

That probably happens because the track is automatically armed and monitored, just enable this by clicking on the arm and monitor button. You should be fine then.

No problem, it's a bit cryptic. What I meant to say was, try and check if the track gets armed and monitored when it is working. And of course if it is un-armed and unmonitored when it's not working.

Then you can enable them manually to make it work.

If it still doesn't work, then just let me know.

What do you mean with "armed" ?

Each track can be armed for recording. In the track header, which is on the left side of the screen in the arranger, where the track name is, there are two little buttons. One to arm the track for recording, hitting record in the transport will record only on armed tracks. It also features a little monitor button.

I usually do it so:
I insert Thesys on an instrument rack, then I open any vst instrument on another track.
I go to its routing and get midi from Thesys.

Think it should be the proper way...

I can't say it doesn't work at all, it just loose it's connection when I go to another track.

To leave it working, I have to keep the Thesys track always highlighted.

Will go and look if I can find out about armed or not later...

I think you may have 'Input Follows Track Selection' which automatically arms and monitors a track when it is selected.

That's why it's working when the track is selected.

same situation here.

When i leave the track i cant hear anything.I dont know how to monitor the Thesys track all the time.

Also Thesys seems to be out of sync here too.

Just click the little button in the track header.

I don't have any problems with midi sync here...

probably my Sync problem is a result due to my tascam us122 soundcard ? I also have midi clock sync problems.

I dont have these kind of problems with cubase / ableton or logic.

Weird

O.K. I have checked and enabled the record and the monitor buttons,
together and separately.

I can listen to the instrument getting midi from Thesys,
but as soon as I change to another track it turns off and I have to re-enable
the record button again to get midi from Thesys again.

This is not related to Thesys alone, I have double checked it with other sequencers.
This happens also with midi Arpeggiators routing to another instrument track.

I have unchecked the follow track in the options too and it's still the same.

As long as I understand it should not loose the connections between the tracks.
It's not the first time I route tracks together.

Can you please check this midi routing from a midi sequencer or arpeggiator to
another track by yourself, Motoko ?

Maybe it needs a fix...???

Again..., beside that I am impressed about Studio One.
The effects are so cool and nice sounding...!!!
The sound is really crisp and clear.
