I guess all you can do is try. Did you upgrade to Producer as part of a promotion? Maybe you can email Presonus and get a definitive answer from them. I do remember seeing a post recently regarding license transfers, and what I typed in my first post was mentioned in that thread.

It would technically "work" to install on your friend's computer, but it would violate the terms of your user agreement. If you have multiple computers (work, home, laptop), PreSonus allows you to install on each of them, and you have some backups in case your hard drive fails, you replace your computer, etc.
This is not the same as giving copies away for friends to use. There is a lot of honor system involved, but your friend could not (for example) log in to the forums without using your email and password, since those are what you used to register your software.
It's totally worth the price -- have your friend download S1 FREE or Artist and have his/her own copy
