How to best set S1 to record while my laptop is playing streaming audio. I have only 44VSL (with the latest Audiobox Driver) used exclusively i.e. all Windows audio drivers are turned off and play back is defaulted thru 44VSL Line Outputs 1 & 2 (as set in Control Panel/Sounds).

I'd prefer to capture the sound directly off the laptop but it seems now impossible as there is no Windows direct sound driver available....

Cheers,

Pidy

Hi,

I've not tried to record what's playing via the PC (audio card) directly to S1P. But what I do use is "Freecorder". I've used it for about 3 years and love it. It will record what ever is playing whether it be directly from your browser, a .wav, an mp3. etc. Internally it has the option to record to mp3 or .wav. With the 'paid' version I'm sure there are a lot more options.

You can find it here:

The website does a good job of explaining what it does with a "Youtube" video. I even use the Radio and TV toolbar to listen to music (which of course you 'could' record ).
