Does anyone have any music-making apps that they recommend for the iPad?
I've heard that Sunrizer and Korg have some good ones out. I'd love to be able to use the iPad with my Studio One v2. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Presonus Studio One Pro v2, Presonus Audiobox USB 2x2, Presonus FireStudio Mobile, MacBook Pro 2.26ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 8gb, Roland TD-4S Vdrums expanded, Roland Fantom X-8 with audio track expansion, M-Audio Oxygen25, KRK Rokit 5's, Vox VT20+, Fender Standard Stratocaster, Squier Jaguar Bass, Epiphone Dot, Yamaha F310 Acoustic, Dean Markley ProMag Gold, Mics: SM57, SM58, MXL 990, MXL 991, Pedals: Digitech RP 155, Digitech BP 90, TC Electronic Flashback, TC Helicon C1, TC Helicon H1.
I have the Korg synths. They are fun to play around with but I've never actually used them in studio applications. The Electribe is a fun little thing, but pretty useless for actual music making. The MS20, actually sounds REALLY good, and if I was into synthesizers still I would definitely use it.
I haven't kept up with new developments so I don't know what the MIDI/audio IO options are for the iPad, but I'm assuming there are some ways to control the MIDI and have a better audio out, so that you can sync the iPad to S1 and record its output.
I know there are a few iOS music blogs around, try to google for them.
One of my personal favorites is Chordbot. It's a "Band-in-a-box" kind of app that let's you enter chord progressions and have them played back in various styles. I find this to be an excellent tool when writing songs, and trying out various chords in context.

Nanostudio is great. You can make a drum beat there and straight up drag drop that midi file on a track in studio one without even having to connect your ipad to the computer with the wireless transfer tool they have.

for nanostudio. Also Animoog is pretty awesome. Moog also has filtatron which i've never tried but hear it sounds really good as well.

For now, I've just been using GarageBand, which is surprisingly useful as a songwriting tool. I've also got the drum machine DM-1. Does anyone have any experience using PolyChord? I've read great things, but don't want to drop $10 without some on hands experience.

never heard of the polychord, but if you're looking for a sweet synth that's easy to use that sounds awesome, you really can't go wrong with the animoog. i can't seem to push it enough. good luck.

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.

Another vote for Animoog. Garageband is IMHO still too limited - the fact that I like odd time signatures alone makes it pretty unusable for me . Some more stuff I haven't mentioned here ...
Camel Audio has excellent iOS version of thier Alchemy synth available, it can also function as controller of desktop version. I use it a lot as such.
There is also TC-11 which is IMHO the first synth really using the power of multitouch. It's not your usual one dollar app (23.99€ here), but IMHO worth of the price.
